This was a left-over from when there was still a shoe bag compartment on the bottom of the pack. I ordered 3 packs and returned the 2 newer versions - they seemed a little flimsier and cheaper even though they were a little more expensive, and lacked the separate shoe compartment. Bought this backpack for my 4th grader, and he absolutely loves it. His friends clearly love it too, because they asked where he got it from and wanted the link. It' is a great size, fits quite a lot actually, great quality material. And I think this backpack will last quite a while tbh.
