This is a great carry-on. The fact that I can switch it from a duffel bag to a backpack in just 2 easy steps is a nice touch. If you are in the market for a soft and yet spacious carry-on, I would highly recommend this bag.

    • Exceeds expectations
I was skeptical of this bag given the price, but was immediately pleasantly surprised and continue to be after several trips. The fabric, stitching, and zippers are robust but also light. The wide opening makes it easy to pack (flip the lips inside-out and it stands up like a box). The capacity seems endless, even when you put shoes in the bottom compartment (I got 3 men’s pairs in). It’s big enough to max out your overhead carry-on allotment but collapsable enough to be your under-seat carry-on if not fully filled. The handles are short enough to hand carry (I’m 6 feet tall) and long enough to shoulder carry (I disposed of the extra shoulder strap). The lined side pocket is a useful touch, and the three mesh side pockets plus the outside zipped pocket are easy to access in a rush or tight space. I don’t use the bottom compartment much, but the option does come in handy. Cons are more about personal preferences than objective quality: (1) the lined side pocket could be bigger — it’s meant for laundry but it can’t hold much beyond some socks and underwear, plus I’d like to be able to slide a laptop or magazine in there instead; (2) the bottom compartment is designed for shoes, but I find that makes the main compartment lumpy and sloppy to pack — it works better for flat things, like pants, books, etc.; (3) the trolley sleeve is a bit too loose to be secure — I find myself just shoulder-carrying instead; and (4) the first few trips, I didn’t love its looks when under-packed — it looked like a formless lump, but some more thoughtful packing solved that. ... show more
