So much better than I was expecting! Took me 30 min to assemble. The port covers are easy to yank out if you use pliers to grab and pull straight out- they don't screw in/out. Took me a while to realize that. Perfect size for my flock of 8. It is spring time- appears I only have to fill this every 6 days or so, since they supplement with free ranging our grassy back yard 4 hours a day, and since I finally got our coop mouse-proofed! ... show more

I like how this TGEYD 30 lb chicken feeder seems sturdy, prevents leaks and waste, should be rainproof, and stores a lot of food. My chickens are a little over a month old and can fit their heads in very easily. The height is not adjustable so this wouldn't be good for smaller birds. I saw a lot of reviews saying this was a pain to assemble but it was pretty straightforward to me. The included wrenches were sufficient and I didn't have to use anything else. Directions are simple too. I did have a few pieces metal that were slightly bent that made assembly a little tricky but they weren't showstoppers. The box came with extra plastic protection on the corners reinforcing the cardboard. This is a nice reassurance that this company wants the product to arrive without damage. I didn't fill it all the way - maybe like 15 to 30 pounds to start. It would definitely be nice if this model had some sort of way to see how much food is left with some sort of window or something ... show more

I've finally put it together after buying it 2 weeks ago. It's seemed daunting, so I procrastinated. Putting together, i remember "NOT" to tighten the screws right away, as later on, the hole don't line up. Then tighten them when altogether. I haven't used it yet, but will tonight. So far, i'm hesitant about it tipping over. They should added some pointy FEET or something, so i can STAKE into the ground , like plastic camping stakes, or the pointy thing you get when you buy a solar L:ED light for outdoors. (but, 5 stars anyways) oh, right. the hardest part was trying to figure out how to get those red cover apart. No instructions. I kept trying to turn the center horizontal thingy, going across the center circle. There is an outside thing you unscrew. Then you have to pop-out the close cover from the inside. ... show more
