I like multi-purpose tools. They take up less space in my tool pouch. I was carrying a separate VFL and separate fiber optic light reader. Now I carry just this one tool. It is about the same size as a standard cylinder VFL. I have been using it for 2 weeks without any major issues. There is a waterproof cap on either end which protects the VFL on one end and the light reader on the other end. Sometimes the cap opens without my intention because it is a soft snap type cap. However, the cap still seems durable enough to last for a long time. The power buttons are separate for the VFL and light reader. They are soft press buttons but have not unintentionally turned on while in my tool pouch. The VFL has solid and slow flash mode. The light reader is very easy to change frequencies and it remembers the last frequency that you used before turning off. I would buy again.
