This tester does everything and more that the other testers out there do, from what I have read. The interface boots up quickly, is quick and responsive, and easy to use. For less than 1/4 the price, this is an outstanding value and will be used frequently. The only con is that it has 3 RJ-45 Ethernet ports on it, used for different types of testing, and though the manual tells you which ports to use (mostly), it would be nice if the interface would instruct you on which port to use. Once you get used to it, it will become second nature. I also wish it clearly stated what each RJ-45 port was for, and what you can and cannot do with it. It tests: wiring, with a graphical map, including connections if it is connected to a switch or device. Length Crosstalk (I have not tested this but the manual states it will) POE voltage on each pin DHCP/Ping Toning including 120v detection to any wire with power on it, toning seems quite good, tested it while connected to a POE switch and it worked fine Flashes switch ports It appears that all RJ-45 ports can be connected to a live switch even with POE. However, the tester shut down when I plugged the RJ-11 port into a live phone line and I had to hook it up to a charger to reset it to get it to power back on Nice clear color screen I did not test creating reports yet You can even test the length of any cable using the included alligator clips. Supposedly you can test for a cable break or short in any wire/cable. I am currently trying to figure out if it can help me test for bad Christmas light bulbs but have had no luck with LED strands. This thing really seems to do it all (except to actually certify data integrity over the cables). Comes in a pretty nice zippered case with all the ID testers and a charger for the rechargeable batteries in both the tester and toner- no more dead 9v batteries. One thing this does not do that the yellow brand does is have a wire map tester right on the toner and auto-switchover to that. Meh. I'll take more functionality and more cash in my pocket with this one. Overall, it's not quite as user-friendly as some others may be but this one does seem to do it all for an outstanding price.

Did exactly what I wanted and that was to check POE and do a ping tests. The only other non-smart phone based appliances I could find for this purpose are over $2000. This device feels a little chincy but I used it on the job side all day and it worked well in a single charge.

I bought this tester to identify a 32 node network and spot problem cables. It was very easy to use,.. After reviewing the manual several times to sort out the English translation. Anyone familiar with these tools should have no trouble understanding the manual, a novice might take a bit longer but thankfully the manual is intuitive. I tried all the available functions, they were also easy to use and finally the plastic case. It's really not that bad. If you plan on throwing them in your pickup with all your heavy tools, then I would ante up for a Fluke or similar rugedized tool. It comes in a nice zippered case, so if you keep it from being crushed then it should last a long time. My guess is the main unit could sustain a 6-7 foot drop, I'll let you know when that happens.;) Rated a 4 stars only because there a more rugged testers out there at a much higher $

Surprisingly functional for a fraction of the Fluke's cost. Where as the Fluke will perform most tests through a single RJ45 port, this unit requires moving the cable between 3 different ports depending on the test (e.g. length, mapping, ping or POE validation). The LCD is high-res and clear. The length calibration is a bit bothersome, but is accurate after following the instructions. Having 8 port maps that actually so discreetly on the mapping function of the tester is outstanding. The toner is very sensitive and worked well on a set of 150m cables. There is a small worry about the charging / battery that is embedded in the tester and the tone probe. The unit is light and made out of cheap plastic. Who knows how long this will last... But for the price, the value cannot be beat.

Received the Noyafa NF-8601W very quickly and the price was reasonable for all it does. Unfortunately, it failed to properly pin out a brand new cable during the initial bench test of this unit. It showed pins 1 and 2 open, then it got a brain and showed them as good. After the second time this happened, I was done with it. I need reliable test equipment. I did try out some of the other features and was unimpressed with it's ability to hunt for Cat 5e cables. If you want to know if the cable you are searching for is in a general area of the room, it works great. If you want to identify a specific cable in a bundle of wires, you are out of luck. First it's here, then it's moved to another and as the last straw, the tone moves to a stray usb cable nearby. What! I did try adjusting the volume control but it did not improve the Noyafa NF-8601W's ability to isolate the proper cable. My 20 year old toner/tracer is much more reliable and easier to work with. I really wanted this "all in one" tester in my service truck but intermittent errors in test equipment is a fatal flaw. I sent it back asap.

Length test works surprisingly well! Length test even shows open wire while other side is connected to switch. The pairs still connected to the switch will show inaccurate lengths but the open wire will say open next to it and have accurate length so you know roughly where it’s cut. Sadly unable to obtain IP via DHCP. I tried a mikrotik and tp-link router, unable to obtain IP address to use ping test. The ability to acquire an IP address via dhcp would be very helpful when working on a unfamiliar network. The DHCP client seems to time out to quickly. Maybe a firmware upgrade would fix it. Ping function does work but you must assign an IP address manually. Even without the dhcp it’s still a good buy for all the features that do work.
