The function is completely one-click automatic test, the length of the optical fiber link under test, the connector type, the breakpoint position and other information is displayed in a graphical form, and the results are clear and easy to under_x005f stand. The light source and power meter are displayed at the same time, which is convenient for testing the insertion loss, isolation and return loss of optical passive devices. Optical loss measurement steps are as follows: The optical output interface of this series fiber optic cable tester is a replaceable universal interface, and the end face must be kept clean during use. When the instrument is unable to test a normal curve, or the test results are inaccurate, the connector is first considered for cleaning. When cleaning, be sure to do it with both OTDR and visual red light fault location turned off.

  • Missing software to print results?
Color: Blue
I bought this for a fiber job in 2023 that ended up not happening. So I ended up not using it until just the other week where I finally had another single mode fiber job that required OTDR testing with printable results. The tester worked great during testing. It reported the length of my fiber run fairly accurately. Even got the length of my launch cable accurately. So I'm pretty confident the db loss figures are accurate as well. But there's just one problem. How do I print the results?? I saved all the results to the internal memory but how do I print?? The product listing states it comes with software that needs to be installed on a PC but I didn't receive any software with my tester. I see no way to contact the seller or a web address to download the software either. I would honestly give this at least 4 stars if not 5 if it either came with the software or had a place I could download the software from. But without being able to print the results I would just have to buy a different one as most clients require printed results. What a waste of money. If all you need is results on the screen, I would say 4 stars would recommend. But if you're like me and need to print the results for your clients, get a different OTDR. ... show more

  • Works great, probably cheaper options out there. "6 in 1" is a stretch.
Color: Yellow
I want to take off a start for the marketing gimmick of calling it "6 in 1". This is much simpler: it tests RJ45 and fiber optic. Yes, it can save lots of measurements. Yes, it has a flashlight. But it's really a "2 in 1". Anyway, it's awesome. Came fully charged, no need for instructions because the button labels are intuitive. Worked well during all of my testing, with no noticeable battery drain. ... show more

  • Easy to for testing relative attenuation. RJ45 simple continuity test, miss wirings.
Color: Yellow
I got this to test some fiber optic cables and experiment with fiber. It works well and is easy to use. The main option is to test attenuation. To do this you need a known-good cable to use as a reference point, then you can verify another cable to see how much light it passes in comparison. Light source can be built-in red (650nm) laser or external source. This unit doesn’t generate multiple wavelengths of light to test). Unit is decent quality. Good plastic shell with rubber grips. Display has a backlight option that works well. LED flashlight is good enough to see up close. Rechargeable battery via USB C. RJ45 cable tester works, identified proper connections, swapped pairs, swapped wires between pairs, shorted wires, and open wires. It's a nice addition that doesn't make meter any larger. I would buy this unit again. ... show more

  • Perfect for DIYers & Home Fiber Setups! Visual fault is brighter than my higher end one is.
Color: Yellow
I picked up this 6-in-1 Fiber Optic Tester so I can take it where ever I go, and I'm really impressed with what you get for the price. If you are a home user, DIYer, or just need a pocket-sized tool to troubleshoot cables, this is a fantastic value. What I Love: All-in-One Convenience: It's amazing how much functionality is packed into this tiny device. It functions as an Optical Power Meter, Visual Fault Locator (VFL), and RJ45 Cable Tester. Having the RJ45 tester built-in is a huge bonus since I often deal with copper cables too. Great for Troubleshooting: The VFL is super useful for finding breaks or bad bends in the fiber. Being able to see the red light helps quickly identify where a cable is damaged. Accurate Power Readings: The power meter covers a wide range (-50 to +30 dBm) and supports all the common wavelengths (850, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, 1625nm). The readings are stable, and the 0.01dB resolution gives me confidence when calibrating my signal levels. User-Friendly Design: The button layout is simple and intuitive. Switching between wavelengths and units is quick. The backlight display is a lifesaver when working in dark server racks or tight spaces. Portability & Battery: At roughly 95g, this thing fits easily in my pocket. The Type-C charging is a game-changer—no hunting for AA batteries or carrying a dedicated charger. The battery life has been solid, and the ability to save 500 data records is great for keeping track of test results over time. Universal Connectors: The 2.5mm universal interface works seamlessly with SC, FC, and ST connectors. Things to Keep in Mind: Signal vs. Quality: This tool is excellent for testing signal strength, continuity, and faults, but it does not test physical cable quality or perform a full certification like an OTDR would. It's a diagnostic tool for installation and maintenance, not a lab-grade certifier. Target Audience: This is geared toward home users, hobbyists, and light commercial use. If you are a telecom engineer needing enterprise-grade certification, you might need something more advanced. However, for setting up a home fiber run or troubleshooting a bad patch cable, this hits the sweet spot. My Personal Verdict: If you want a reliable, pocket-sized tool to check your fiber power, find faults, and test Ethernet cables without breaking the bank, this 6-in-1 tester is a must-have. It made setting up my fiber network much easier, and the Type-C charging and data storage features make it feel like a premium tool. Highly recommended for DIY enthusiasts! The last image is of a higher priced tester and its visual fault test is to show how much brighter this model is. ... show more

  • Good All-in-One Fiber Tester for DIY and Light Troubleshooting Use
Color: Yellow
I picked up this 6-in-1 fiber optic tester mainly for DIY networking and home lab projects, and for that kind of use it does a pretty decent job. It combines several useful functions into one compact handheld unit, including the optical power meter, visual fault locator, and RJ45 cable testing, which makes it convenient to carry around instead of juggling multiple tools. The display is easy enough to read, the backlight helps in darker areas, and the Type-C charging is a nice upgrade over older tools that still rely on micro USB or disposable batteries. I also liked that it supports multiple common wavelengths and includes storage for test data, which is handy when troubleshooting several runs. That said, this is definitely more of a DIY or entry-level technician tool than something I would consider professional grade. The build quality is acceptable for the price, but it does not have the rugged feel or precision of higher-end fiber testing equipment. The readings seem reasonably consistent for basic troubleshooting and verification, but I would not rely on it for critical certification work or daily commercial use. For homeowners, hobbyists, small office networking, or someone learning fiber basics, this is a solid value and gives you a lot of functionality for the money. Just keep expectations realistic given the price point. ... show more

  • Great Addition to an Educational Networking Lab
Color: Yellow
I purchased this tester for use in our community college networking lab, where students are learning both copper and fiber cabling fundamentals. The unit was easy to learn and simple enough for students to start using with minimal instruction. We used it to verify fiber patch cables and troubleshoot a few intentionally introduced faults during lab exercises, and it performed consistently throughout our testing. The combination of optical testing functions and RJ45 cable testing in a single device is especially convenient in an educational environment where budgets are always competing with reality. For the price, it provides a lot of capability and has become a useful teaching tool in our lab. ... show more
