  • For the money it can’t be beat
Is it perfect? No. The problem is you have to use your phone to display the info you need especially if there is no internet connectivity on the vlan. But to get the same info with a built in display will cost you double or quadruple what this unit cost. So I would say it is perfect as long as you only need it occasionally. My only other complaint the port blink only has one blink rate which makes it difficult to see on certain switches. A changeable blink rate would help. Seems like something they can do with a firmware upgrade. All in all I would definitely recommend as a cost effective solution. ... show more

  • Makes my job easier
The material is plastic and it worries me that it will break. I have used it quite often in my job to see if the cable is hooked up to a switch. If it is, it makes it a lot faster for tracking it and for documentation

  • great product, not such great service
The product is excellent and does what it claims. The problem was with the seller. When the product arrived, UPS asked me to add $100 to the price for taxes and shipping. When I contacted the seller, they told me that they are new and have no control over it. In the sale itself I paid extra for shipping and taxes, so it was supposed to include everything ... show more

  • Nice toy to diagnose network issues. Kind of pricey, but its the real deal.
Nice toy to diagnose network issues. Kind of pricey, but its the real deal. It gives you enough specifics to figure out what is wrong, or at least enough ammunition to go back at the network department to show them that they are screwing up. I like it.

  • Gett all the details
A great tool to take the guess work out of troubleshoot network port and cabling issues. Including easy to access details.

  • Great tool, but half-baked
This is a great tool but not well implemented. My main gripe is the 'user interface'. The device has 4 lights and one button; most all of the data it collects is either emailed, or displayed via a webpage. This device broadcasts a Wi-Fi signal, and you are expected to connect to with your phone. Getting your phone to stay connected to a Wi-Fi that does not have an internet connection is problematic. After you join the wi-fi and fight off all prompts to revert back to one with a stable internet connection, you are supposed to go to a random ip (172.16.9.9) for the webpage. As for me, Wi-Fi would connect, but I could not get the webpage to ever load. Gave up and returned the tool. ... show more

  • Takes a couple of tests to get it right
This unit will eventually give you the info you are looking for. Just not on the first test. If you are working on a LAN with internet it works the best, but most of my work are on LANs without internet. But it does cost only 20% of the "Get it right the first time" meters. This unit is a great timesaver working on networks but it is not perfect. ... show more
