Description

Tetra® Lifeguard® is a broad-spectrum, non-antibiotic agent treats the clinical signs of disease at their earliest stages in freshwater fish. You don’t have to be a fish expert to use Lifeguard! With this all-in-one treatment, there’s no need for time-consuming guesswork. Each pre-measured Fizz Tab dose treats for disease-causing organisms associated with fungus, ick, red streaks, milky or shedding slime, flukes, bacterial gill disease, mouth and fin rot, clamped or torn fins, and ulcers. Tetra Lifeguard can also be used as a preventive when adding new fish. To treat, leave filter system operating normally; remove filter carbon for the duration of treatment. Turn off UV sterilizer if present. Add one tablet per day to each 5 gallons (19 L) of aquarium water. Treat for five consecutive days, at 24-hour intervals. For best results, after five-day treatment, wait another 24 hours (day 6) before returning activated carbon and turning on UV sterilizer. See product label for complete directions for use. • A cure all
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 12 tablets treats 12-Gallon
This product works like a charm and has brought my fish back from the dead several times. I have a 7 year old gold fish and through the years have seen several illnesses take hold, such as fin rot. Everytime i catch the fish getting sick i start a treatment with this product and clean the tank well and every time the fish comes back to full health. My fish was a 15 cent bulk tank goldfish when purchased and is still thriving 7 years later thanks to a few emergency treatments over the years with this product. Its a myth that a pet store goldfish will be dead in a week. With proper care, these pets can live and thrive for quite some time. This medicine is just one piece of its long term care strategy. ... show more

  • 10 outta 5 stars. PLEASE READ!!!
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 12 tablets treats 12-Gallon
OK. George has been really sick. Ich and fin/tail rot. Just sick as could be. I've read mixed reviews and I didn't know what to do. I'd put Indian almond leaves in his tank and he started looking a lil better but was still not moving. So I bought this. I put a tablet in his tank about 20ish min ago and I've seen him moving a lil bit. I'm really praying this will work. I'm fond of George. He's a pretty kool betta. I gave 3 stars because I'm not sure how this is going to work. We'll see and I'll update.... OK yall I want to tell you that George has had 1 fin through deaths door for over a week. I have Googled and lifeguarded and Medafixed and I just got some more fin and body cure but I'm not going to give him any of that til I'm through with the lifeguard. Which I saw on Google to take everything out of the tank and do aquarium salt and filter the meds through (without the cartridge) and several sites said turn the heat up it'd kill the bacteria or infection or whatever. So I gradually increased the temp. He got worse but I was still rooting for him. I was not going to just give up on him. I'm kinda fond of him ya know. So I have been going on Google all day everyday and every night I was saying he'll be dead in the morning. I said that for 5/6 days. He laid on the bottom and sometimes he laid on his side on the bottom. Anyway. One of the times I was looking on Google it said turn the temp down to 60ish it will kill the bacteria through cold. Well he's just not doing well so I tried it. He laid on the bottom of the tank flat on his side for a night and the next day. Well that night I also said he'll be dead in the morning. When I woke up and checked on him he was swimming. Upright. He wasn't going anywhere really just chillin in the corner I'm like kool and tried to feed him some pellets and um yeah no. No good. So I waited and that night once again he was on the bottom of the tank. So heres 4 days with the lifeguard and he's getting ehh a lil .... well I bought the medfix today and because it's all natural and has the green tea in it I figured I could use the 2 together. Well I'll be a son of a gun. He ate some blood worms today. Not a whole lot and not fast but he ate. I was SO happy. I've been talking to him giving him encouragement telling him that I've got faith in him and just letting him know that I am still here rooting him on. I haven't just said oh well it's a fish. He don't matter. No. He's part of my family. And boy does he have some fight in him. So I will give the lifeguard a 10 out of 5 stars. It plus some medafix and a lot of TLC he's coming back onto this side of deaths door. Please if you have a fish that's sick please use this stuff. I have read some nasty reviews and I don't get it. George is doing SO much better with the measures I took with him. It's not just meds. You gotta let them know you're still there and doing everything in your power to get them well or meds ain't gonna work . PERIOD!!! Thanks to the makers of lifeguard and medafix Indian almond leaves and every bit if the faith I had in him and the love I give ALL of my animals. Nit just the furry 4 legged one but the water dwellers too. The first pic is when I got him. The second is when he started getting really sick but was still swimming. He looks so much worse now but he's coming back. He ate and that's a GREAT sign! ... show more

  • Saved our goldfish!!
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 12 tablets treats 12-Gallon
We had two goldfish and one passed away. A couple of days later the other became severely lethargic and had zero life left in it. To the point it was getting sucked to the filter intake because it couldn’t even swim away. Couldn’t even eat. Thought it was dead numerous times. Started using this, and by the second day he starting coming back to life. Finished the 5 days and he’s totally back to normal. Worth trying!!! ... show more

  • Worth a try
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 12 tablets treats 12-Gallon
I tried this, but I didn’t know what was wrong with my fish, but this didn’t save it. It did die on me and I really was disappointed, but I don’t know that this would’ve helped or not because I don’t know what was wrong with it. Little guy so I give it three stars just a Side that may be it wasn’t the fault of the medication not working. He was the only fish however out of that actually passed away so you have to decide. ... show more

  • This stuff is AWESOME!!!
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 12 tablets treats 12-Gallon
Ive had fish for decades. After moving and being without a fish tank for 2+ years, I finally set up a 45 bowfront again and got new fish.... Strangely, all my newly acquired fish were never as lively as I'm used to. Seemed very lethargic from the moment I brought them home over a month ago. Then I started losing 1-2 fish a day... went down from 30 neon tetras to 12. Also lost a Platy, 3 of my 6 guppies, a Molly, and a couple of Danios. Water was perfect. Temperature was right. And I was not seeing any symptoms on any fish barring isolation shortly before death. Then a week ago I spotted white spots on my favorite fish, Patty the Platty. That was my last straw. I finally bought the lifeguard (multiple boxes). It arrived the next day, and I treated my whole tank. The following morning ALL of my fishies were a LOT more lively. And I mean a LOT more lively. I haven't lost a single fishy soul since treating the tank. Patty the Platty is back to her old, active, social, silly self, and the spots are gone. Needless to say, I got a 10 gallon setup that I am going to be using for any new fish going forward. Every new fish will be treated before introduction to the big tank. Symptoms or not. ... show more

  • It works
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 12 tablets treats 12-Gallon
Went on vacation for a week and had someone take care of my beta….. came home to my poor fish hiding in the bottom by the filter, and randomly darting everywhere. His fins were ripped and I believe he had fin rot. Followed the directions on the package and 6 days later my fish has bounced back and is active again, meeting me at the front of the tank to say hi and eating. This stuff works. ... show more

  • For small tanks
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 12 tablets treats 12-Gallon
I ordered 2 packs. My tank is a standard 55-gallon, yet it didn't even last for 2 days out of the 5 recommended on the package. It will work for small aquariums, but for medium ones or around 55gallons you need to buy at least 6 boxes or more....

  • Wow this thing actually worked!
Flavor Name: Unflavored Size: 12 tablets treats 12-Gallon
I've been keeping fish for the last 25 years and occasionally have run into problems but was not familiar with this medicine. In a recent buy where I bought an angel fish that probably was sick and Iadded it to my 20 gallon tank which had other angels I saw that this angel started getting a fin rot. After treating with mela Melafix, it still didn't do the work so I added these tablets. By the 3rd day the fish look much better and was more responsive and by the 5th day, the fins appeared to have started regrowing.. So far so good very impressed. ... show more
