I'm an hvac/R technican that deals with having to leak search refrigerant lines almost on the daily.. Using a an electric sniffer can get your in the right area quickly but if it's inside the cabinet or coil a general area is all you will get with refrigerant in the air playing with your sensors which can drive you crazy and take alot of time... Until now that is.. With this thermal imaging camera you just point and look for the cold spot and with in seconds you found the leak.. Dont be alarmed if it won't connect to your app right away as mine didn't either.. Just be sure you have your wifi and Bluetooth on before you turn it on.. If you don't have the wifi on it will attempt to pair but will just leave you starring at the screen.🙄. I had to delete the device from the app. Turn on wifi and Bluetooth, open the testo app. Then turn on the camera.. Within seconds it found it and started an update for the camera software.. Now it works flawlessly.. They don't tell you any of that in the start up guide.. It works better than the flir that kept falling off my phone.. Seeing as I have a complete set of testo Bluetooth probes, guages, and the scale which integrate perfectly with the app the thermal imaging camera from testo was a no brainer.. I know you young guys want to spend all your money on fieldpiece but take it from me their smart app fails in. Comparison to the testo.. ... show more

1. It works. 2. It’s not glitching and picture smooth (for thermal camera, don’t think it’s 4k😅) 3. It’s good alternative to Flir Edge. 4. Price is main issue. 5. Well made body, very solid. Caught it about 350$, more fair price for this device.

This is a very powerful tool, and quite compact. The hardware is sturdy and small - just a bit longer than a phone, which spring clip that holds the sensor to the back of the phone. The app loaded on the phone communicates with the camera over bluetooth, and the camera sends the thermal image data to the app. The app has many different modes, for different applications, which display data differently. For example, the thermography mode shows a heat map, and a hot/cold A/C mode shows the hottest and coldest points, for use when working on air conditioners. There are probably 15 more modes, many of which I don't understand. ... show more

If you are looking for a thermal imaging camera, look no further. This device used with a smart phone will provide a high resolution thermal imaging camera. It was very easy to set up with my old I-phone and I was impressed with the results. Using this device can show you where you have heat leaks in your house or where you have overheating components on a piece of electronics. As in typical Testo fashion, this thermal imaging sensor is an excellent addition to your HVAC toolbox. The Testo mobile application has become a single access point for all of Testo's bluetooth enabled gauges and smart probes so this integration is pretty seamless. I liked how the modes can be adjusted to take pictures both in terms of the normal imaging as well as thermal imaging. The setup functions very well for showing individuals potential problems including delta T differences. I was not sure I would like the smartphone holster but it actually works great even with larger phones. For those that prefer or need to use their smartphone for other purposes while using the sensor, there is a screw socket in the bottom for a tripod mount which is also really thoughtful. My unit arrived with about 75% charge which was quickly topped off via USB C charging cable in about 15 minutes so charging appears to be very quick for those on the go. The temperature accuracy seemed to be aligned pretty well as I could see my aging HVAC unit temp difference was narrower than my new unit by quite a bit. Very pleased and definitely think this sensor is worthy of your consideration albeit it is one of the pricier Testo sensors out there. ... show more

Super easy to use, Works great for checking air flow with temperature gradients. I never really realized how much of a difference that certain places of the home had for humidity levels. I have used this mostly to check for temp differences through ductwork throughout the home. I couldn't be happier with this. Its super easy to use after downloading the app. Doesn't drain the battery fast at all, and this could really help you save time by locating a situation quicker. ... show more
