This multimeter works as expected. The auto measurement feature is ok and mostly picks up what you're trying to do when you touch the leads to different things. It is better to manually select what you are trying to measure for for quicker and more accurate specific measurement. The display is a pretty decent size and is easy to read. I have a $100 plus multimeter that I have depended on for several years. I assume it is accurate because it is "one of the good ones". But it is pretty big, bulky, has no automatic function and a small black and white screen. And, wanting something smaller you could tuck into a kitchen drawer, ordered this much less expensive one. I will never use all the functions that this meter has but this one in addition to being much smaller has many really nice basic features such as: > A large color display that is easy to read inside and in the sun. > An auto range capability that in a little more than a second or two determines the correct function. > An alternate manual function that lets you choose a specific function if you choose. > An NCV (no contact voltage) function that allows you to check if the circuit is hot by simply holding it close to a socket. > A continuity check with a beeper loud enough to actually hear in a noisy environment. > A built in LED flashlight. > A great removable protective rubber shell I only tested AC/DC voltage, continuity and the NCV (no contact voltage) functions. AC/DC voltage was within less than 1 volt at 120V, dead on at 4VDC compared to the expensive meter. The continuity beep was loud, a pet peeve of mine as the expensive meter can hardly be heard. The NCV function worked, just as it should. Place it next to a 120V socket and it will detect a live socket although you should always verify that before you actually proceed. Obviously this is not a professional review but I was impressed with the convenience of using this little multifunction meter. It is small, you can with the cables, still attached place it in the nice soft case and tuck it into a kitchen drawer, has a great easy to read color display. It is ready to use at a moments notice. So it is really convenient and enjoyable to use for a homeowner and a great backup for a Pro. ... show more

    • Incredibly good and useful multimeter for the price

I got this digital multimeter because I’m always using multimeters to measure aspects of the many electronics projects I work on. Honestly, you just cannot have enough! For $10 this is an incredible meter. *It is compact and easy to use. It fits easily in the hand – mine, at least. *The removable rubber-ish case protects it from small falls. But it does not have a stand to prop up the meter. *I find the test probes to be reasonably long and sturdy enough to last a good while. *The auto-mode feature is nice in that you don’t have to select one, but you do have to wait for the meter to cycle around to the correct mode. *The continuity checker – when in Manual Mode – has very little delay. Something that kills me on other meters. *The meter comes with a pair of batteries – Duracells no less! *The NCV [Non-Contact Voltage] sensor is pretty good. It is better than the dedicated NCV pen that I threw away when it couldn’t find electrical wires in a wall – this little multimeter has no problem locating these wires. However, it does indicate High voltage when I put it close to a USB charging cable. *The black storage case is well-sewn and looks good. It has an internal pocket for the test probes. *And it comes with a physical, printed User Manual... in 5 languages, which makes the pamphlet bigger than it really needs to be. It would have been nice if the User Manual could have fit into the carry case. *As for Accuracy – what would you realistically expect for a $10 tool? When I care about real accuracy, I break out my much more expensive multimeter. Again, for $10 I think this is an incredibly good and useful multimeter. ... show more
