  • Good Value, Easy Setup, Great Coverage, Beware of the name though, it is not WiFi7.
Size: 3 Pack Style: ME3 Pro
These are easy to setup. The app works remarkably well compared to some other brands I have tested. I connected the first one to my cable modem, then I put the other two on either end of the house. I pressed the mesh button after powering them on and I quickly had whole house coverage. The speed was great and the mesh networking worked. Unfortunately the next morning the mesh nodes were both blinking green that they disconnected. I am really sure what I did wrong. It works for others according the reviews so maybe I have too much interference? Support has been great in asking for information. I am trying older firmware to see if that solves the issue. So when this system works, it works great! One thing to not is that is is NOT WiFi 7. There is no support for 6GHz. You do get great speeds in the 2.4 and the 5.8 frequencies and can use 20,40 or 80 MHz channel widths. I am still working with support to solve my issue. ... show more

  • Is this WiFi 7 wireless router any good?
Size: 1 Pack Style: ME3 Pro
PROS: - Really fast WiFi 7 - Pretty easy setup even without following the videos. - Relatively inexpensive compared to other WiFi 7 routers that are double the price - Monolithic stature design - Has 2 additional LAN ports at the back CONS: - Plasticky and cheap to touch (but who really touches a router often anyways?) - By real-world use, when I situated this inside our bedroom connected to a LAN outlet, the WiFi 7 speed begins to drop significantly at about 40-50 feet away VERDICT My 1Gb ATT connection is almost always at full duplex (~940Mb up and down), thanks to this relatively inexpensive WiFi 7 router. Now i have this reliable wireless connection at the opposite end of our house extending to the backyard. ... show more

  • Great product, but not perfect
Size: 3 - 4 Rooms Style: ME3 Pro
After two days of using the Nova configuration that I purchased, it’s mostly positive thoughts. My house is not large—approximately 1,600 sqft, two stories. However the family room on the first floor is on a slab with no second floor above it, and it has plagued me with WiFi issues. So, my main goal for this product was to provide more stable WiFi for the family room. My secondary goal was to have better coverage on my property as well so I can enjoy WiFi coverage on my deck or in my yard. To those points, this product has provided excellent coverage and improved the stability of my WiFi network compared to my old setup of a main router and Netgear extender. Pros: - the Smart Assistant feature is great for setting up devices that can only connect to the 2.4 GHz band (like my WeMo). The WeMo devices are totally different headache so don’t get my started. - extremely easy setup following the little quick start booklet that was included with the box as well as the app instructions. - no obvious handoff issues between nodes as I walk through my house. Cons: - the lack of LAN ports on the back of the hub. However, I repurposed my older router as an Ethernet switch which resolved that issue (I’m not very networking savvy, but YouTube works wonders on setting that up) - I definitely see a speed drop off. I’m with Spectrum and rated for 100 mbps download and 15 mbps upload (I think). I definitely don’t get those speeds when connected to the nodes, but for streaming Netflix, Hulu, etc., even if I’m down to 20 mbps, it’s still more than sufficient. - for some reason, the Tenda app shows that I am connected to a node further away in the house than the one I’m very close to. Not sure why it does that, but since my speeds and coverage are still adequate, I’m not overly concerned. - the node sizes are quite large, and if you want to utilize their built-in LAN port, you can’t have anything plugged into the adjacent outlet. I wish they had designed the unit to have the port on the side or top, but oh well. Hopefully it continues to provide stable, long-term coverage; however, if the product quality diminishes in the future, I’ll make an effort to update my review. Hopefully this helps anyone looking to purchase this product! Update #1 (6/1/20): After using the Nova MW5 for about 2-3 weeks, my only real complaint is the issue with my Echo Dot. While streaming my favorite live radio stations, the audio stream frequently stutters and drops. I tried reconnecting my Dot to the Nova network on the 5 GHz band, but the Dot reverts back to the 2.4 GHz band. My dot has line of sight to one of the Nova nodes so I’m not sure why there is an issue. What is even more odd is the regular Echo has no problems streaming the live radio stations. It’s still not a deal breaker for me for the price of this system but certainly disappointing. Other than that, the mesh network continues to operate well. Update #2 (6/29/20): I’ve noticed that my Belkin WeMo smart plugs will randomly not turn on some nights or not turn off some nights. The WeMos have been troublesome since I bought them (terrible software), but they were usually fairly stable once set up with my standard WiFi setup; however, on this mesh network, I typically have at least 1-2 issues per week. It’s frustrating, but I’ll still maintain the 4-star review due to the pros far outweighing the nagging cons. ... show more

  • Avoid at all costs
Size: 3 Pack Style: ME3 Pro
for three weeks the units ran ok. Then my Wi-Fi suddenly just stopped working. I rebooted all nodes and all was fine two weeks later the same thing ..... another reboot! One week later same problem! this went on for another few weeks rebooting every five or six days. Also noticed the nodes would have to be unplugged and replugged for them to communicate. So i was glad to see an update available. After the update the units became so unreliable that i would reboot at least once a day. This product is really a waste of time! I would steer clear and purchase another brand ... show more

  • Early review after first day...
Size: 3 - 4 Rooms Style: ME3 Pro
(UPDATE BELOW) I'm in a three level town home with Verizon FIOS with their router/modem on the middle floor with about 20 devices. For the most part I get coverage but it's weak upstairs at the furthest length from the router I average about 30mbps with somewhat frequent dropout to my phone (Pixel 3 XL) and this router fixed my issue without even needing the satellite boxes I'm now seeing up to 160mbps on my phone and close to 250mbps on a desktop computer across the house! Setup was very easy I was literally up and running in 10 minutes... Login and turn off the built in WiFi from the existing modem/router then turn it off, plug up the tenda unit to an ethernet port and power it all back up. Once it's done starting up you connect to it with the tenda app on your phone rename it to the same name as the previous router and BOOM everything reconnected. Walking around the house I've experienced no complete drop outs from my phone as I had before and am experiencing similar signal strength. The tenda device configures itself and gives you very few options but the average joe probably wont care. Unless I find a spot that needs more speed I'll likely not even use the extra satellites. UPDATE DAY 2... Well it seemed like a good idea but now on the second day I'm getting half the speed I originally got and I havnt changed anything, my desktop will not reconnect at AC speed and is defaulting to a slower mode now receiving around 80mbps my phone around 30mbps. There is no control in the Tenda app to remedy this. I tried adding one of the secondary nodes and I get a full signal but even worse speed so i went back to just using the base unit. Tenda doesn't seem to answer any of these issues in their online forums and I'm reading (researching around the web) that this is par for the course for many of these mesh systems unless you have a corded system to back it up... I'm gonna fiddle with it a few more days but I feel this may be on it's way back to amazon next week. For the record I'm not seeing any of the streaming issues other reviews mentioned, I have 4 Alexa devices that are working with spotify and xm radio streaming constantly. I'm going to have to assume there is some issue with the radios in the router, possibly load balancing it can't handle. ... show more
