This is not the first blackout "film" (esque?) product that I've used where the installation hardware just doesn't work, at all. From prior experience, I use a series of small hooks that I put either in the drywall or the wooden window trim itself (depending on where the hooks need to go for a secure hold), and that improvised method works good enough for me. This does block out light well, and while creased to the extreme, considering I only want it for temporary use (not up all the time), it's not an eyesore for too long of a period of time. If I needed a more permanent solution, for regular use, I'd likely look for a different solution, but this was a cost-effective way to get the job done in my situation.

These look great from outside. Looks like heavy tint on your windows. I chose to use the velcro to keep them up because I didn't want the suction cups to show on the window. The weather hasn't been hot yet so for them to keep falling, I can't blame the heat. Especially since the velcro is still in place. It just doesn't stay attached to the material. I've had to reattach these things, numerous times. The backing of the black is a silver material and it seems the adhesive on the back of the velcro just doesn't stick to it that well. Besides resorting to the suction cups, which I REALLY don't want to, I'm not sure what other solution there would be. But I DO love these. SO easy to cut this material. Measure, cut, hang. Boom. Done. Just not sure how to KEEP them up. I would think, once summer gets here and the sun hits those windows directly, the suction cups will also become useless.

This blackout material is just that, material, it is not a blind. It is, however, easy to install, it doesn't come with instructions but once you get the package you'll be able to decipher what to do, it is very self explanatory. It comes with all the items that you'll need to measure and make the installation which includes, suction cups, velcro and even a measuring tape. With that said, I was able to very easily measure the material and install them in my windows. Now you'll have to make sure that you cut the material in a straight line and cut it exactly to your measurements so that it can work effectively. I installed mine along the frame and not just in front of the glass of the window. This will make sure that all the sunlight is blocked. I do recommend this blackout material to anyone who is needing this type of light blocking in their homes.

Blocks the light out! I have chronic migraines and needed to block more light out of a room than our blinds could provide, this works great. Things to know: • Note! These Do NOT come with installation instructions! They are available on the Amazon page, but I don’t think you should have to go to the Amazon page to see how to use anything you buy. • Blocks out the light very well. • I used the sticky mounts rather than the suction cups. I decided that mounting the shade to the window itself might not block out enough light, so I mounted it to the window frame. We have newer, vinyl window frames so I’m not worried about pulling paint off. They stick very well, so don’t attach them to a wall or other surface that might be damaged when removing them. • Our window frames are only ½ inch wide, so I cut each mount in half and they still work like a charm. • As suggested by the instructions, I added two inches to each dimension when cutting out the shade and the overlap is perfect for how I installed the shade. • The window has a blind on it and rather than work around the mechanism installed at the top of the window, I tucked the overlap behind it. This actually holds the top up without the mounts but I added two anyway to make sure the blind sealed and blocked out the light on the upper corners. • I used two mounts per corner rather than one, which seems to work well. I didn’t use the suction cups so I can’t comment on how well that would work. Overall, a great product, it just needs to come with instructions.

If you need to block out all the light from a window at a low cost, the HANYUQIAO Temporary Blackout Blind is a good choice. It’s not really an operating “blind” or “shade” but a cover. It uses Velcro or suction cups to attach to window or frame. You cut it to fit. At 118"X57" there’s plenty of material for most windows. Unless you are really good with scissors, I recommend using a sharp utility knife to cut to size. To avoid any light leaking around the edges, be sure to cut larger than the glass. The material is thin, so you need to use plenty of Velcro to keep it in place and prevent sagging. Depending on your window design, you may need to think a bit about how best to install to block out all the light. Does not come with instructions, so be sure to look at the instructions provided on the listing. This is not a replacement for a true blackout curtain or shade. But for its purpose, flexibility, and price, it is a good product.

Mine smelled like fish when I took it out of the package. It was quite strong. I tossed it in a back room and ignored it for several days and the smell dissipated. If you are hoping for a permanent solution, this isn't it. It's very thin and definitely tears easily. However, the first word of the title is temporary, so that's fine. So what is this for? Something like blocking out the light from the outdoors when you want to watch a movie. You would use the suction cups for that, and then just pop it down when you're done. It definitely blocks out the sun. It's silver on the backside, which is a little odd and definitely draws attention. However, it shouldn't matter if you are using these as a temporary solution.

The quality feels thin. It comes with the adhesive (Velcro and suction cups) and a tape measurement. The size of the blind is big so I can cut out and place it on different areas.
