Tempo keeps fluctuating their prices to maintain consistent sales, so always search and wait for the lowest listings. When you do, you get very good quality for pennies! The Resolute reels and rods are great. A better reel than the Vertix, which I also have for heavier lures.

    • Lightweight, But Spool Tensioner is Hard to Adjust

I really like this reel for the price. I paired it up with a Resolute701B-HXF 7' Heavy-Fast rod and am using it for ocean fishing. This setup is very lightweight, durable and easy to cast. I caught a nice fierce fighting 5lb bonito with it yesterday. I use 50-lb braid with 15-lb flouro top-shot. My only problem with this reel is that it is very hard to turn the spool tensioner (with or without fishy hands). I have only used the reel twice in salt water and rinse it off and dry it real well after each use. I will try to drop some oil under it to see if it eases up. - Very smooth cast and retrieve. We fish competitively and the feel of the cast and retrieve are comparable to some of my name-brand $200+ reels. We used it at a tournament and it helds up well under the stress of hard use. - The only real drawback is that the text lacks contrast and is difficult to read. I'm no longer surprised by the Tempo brand quality as it has been consistently amazing. I've picked up reels and a rod from them, every time I am impressed by the quality I'm getting at the price point I wouldn't expect to get these at. The Resolute L73 is another high quality reel that feels good in the hand and has a super smooth action reeling in. Handled largemouth bass easy in the California Delta! Looks like it has an MSRP of $73.99 but with an active 30% coupon at time of writing, it's a solid buy for a solid reel. The media could not be loaded. Lightweight, slim baitcasting reel has magnetic design to prevent bird nesting. Spooling is easy and fast. Nice balance when casting and is easy to cast for beginners like me. Great Gift for any Fisherfans! Dads who fish would love this one. I Highly Recommend!
