  • Action fishing
Size: TPS2 802-2
Excellent fishing rod, long casts, wonderful action when landing fish

  • Ultra performance
Size: TPS2 601-2
Fantastic rod all the sensitivity you need for feeling even the smallest of bites but durable enough to take on the stream monster you didn’t know it could handle. TFO is always my go to

  • Like others, it snapped immediately out of the box.
Size: TPS2 661-2
Did some research before buying this. I mainly use ultralight gear for the bulk of my fishing, which is often for trout or bass. I have had great results with my St Croix and Cadence ultra light rods but wanted to see other options after I broke one of my Cadence rods when I slammed down my truck seat not realizing the rod was in the way. The TFO rod came up as a great option and had a cool green color (at least in my opinion). Well the rod tip broke with in minutes of very light checking it out after opening the box. I see a number of other reviews now that had similar issues so I won’t be replacing it with the same brand. It’s worth noting that the seller shipped this in a massive box, probably 2 feet by 3 feet. That’s weird but the real issue is that the two piece rod didn’t really fit in the box. They jammed it in sideways and the rod had to be jammed in there and slightly bent in order to fit diagonally. Maybe that had something to do with how easy the tip broke. The rod felt a lot stiffer than my other UL rods too, which I don’t think I like, that also makes me worried it might snap with even a medium size bass or trout. I don’t have that concern with St Croix or Cadence but they don’t make the model Cadence rod any longer, sadly. Hope this helps. ... show more

  • Perfect setup for trout & pan fishing Perfect setup for trout & pan fishing
Size: TPS2 601-1
I’ve bought 4 of these in total (3 from local fishing store and 1 from Amazon). So far, I like them. The backbone is pretty solid, at least for me. The one I personally use is the 6FT 1 PIECE TFO paired with a Shimano Vanford 2000HG Spinning Reel. Extremely light and the reel is just unreal smooth. I hold it next to my other TFO Rods that’s paired with a different reel and it feels lighter than those. You could tell the difference. I’m trying to branch out to other brand rods that’s are within the same price range or below $200. But, this one is a solid combo. The sensitivity is there, but I could tell it’s not as good as a Shimano Zodias, though, that’s an unfair comparison, I guess? I’ve tried this combo on Rainbow Trout and when they bite, you can definitely feel it. For pan fishing (Crappie), I don’t usually depend on the sensitivity, due to the usage of a bobber. ... show more

  • Great rod for the price! Great rod for the price!
Size: TPS2 661-1
Product: TFO 1 piece 6' 6" Ultra Lite rod. Great rod for the price. Good casting distance with 8 lb. J-Braid x8 and a 4 lb. mono leader. Using soft plastics weightless, 1/64 and 1/32 oz so far. Just a joy to cast and play fish on once hooked. Pretty sensitive with braid. Better than some of my other rods. Brim hits feel awesome! HARD! Also easy to detect some softer Crappie and even more subtle small bass bites. I would have given it 5 stars if it had better guides. The color is growing on me, and well done, but I would have preferred a black version. Neither of these is a game changer. The rod not only fishes well, but looks pretty good with a silver reel. Currently have it paired with a Shimano Stradic FL 1000. These pics include it with a Stradic FM 1000 which I returned. See my review on the Stradic FM 1000 for details. I would definitely recommend this rod at it's price point. ... show more

  • Perfect ultra light rod
Size: TPS2 561-1
Great balance, great action, phenomenal grip comfort. Obviously a high quality rod from the moment you see it. I would take this rod over more expensive competitors ie st croix. This is a true fast action sensitive. Stcroix tends to be more "whippy" . If I want a whippy rod I would just use a fly fish setup. ... show more

  • Love this rod!
Size: TPS2 701-1
Absolutely love this rod. Took out pan fishing and trout fishing. Caught decent size slabs and 18-20in rainbows. Handled very well with 4lb leader and 6lb braid. Paired it with a shimano sedona 1000

  • Very fragile, not meant to be used apparently.
Size: TPS2 601-2
Liked the rod very much. Went to put it away at the end of the day and put a hook through a guide to store it. Put very little tension on it and the tip snapped right off. I only used it one time and it broke. Over all good rod, had a good feel to it but broke with little to no force. Wouldn’t buy again ... show more
