Handy, Compact Ladder With Good Reach with A Few Minor Drawbacks
Overall, I’m impressed with how useful this telescoping ladder is. It extends surprisingly far for something that collapses down this small, making it easy to store in a trunk, garage, or other tight space. For occasional jobs where hauling around a full-size extension ladder would be inconvenient, this is a very handy option. The ladder holds my weight without any problem, although there is some noticeable flex when it is extended. That isn’t necessarily unusual for this style of ladder, but I would be mindful of the setup angle and would not want to use it at an excessively shallow angle with a heavy load, since it could bow considerably more. The removable hooks at the top are useful, but they are probably my biggest complaint. They feel quite loose and floppy when installed. They are still sturdy once they're hooked over something, but there is quite a bit of movement in the attachment itself. On the positive side, they are very easy to install or remove by releasing the retaining tab, and the ladder can be used perfectly well without them. Assembly was mostly straightforward, although on mine I had to knock out a couple small plastic pieces left from manufacturing before I could insert the bottom stabilizer bar. There weren't really instructions explaining this, but it was easy enough to figure out. I also appeared to be missing one small piece of hardware—or possibly it fell out while opening the box—so I had to supply a replacement screw. Collapsing the ladder is simple once you understand how the release tabs work, but you do need to operate multiple tabs and pay attention to where your fingers are. With the sections dropping down as they release, there is definitely some potential to pinch a finger if you're careless. Despite those smaller issues, the basic ladder itself feels useful and capable. The combination of substantial reach, compact storage, and portability is what makes it stand out for me. Overall: 4 out of 5 stars. A very convenient telescoping ladder with a few fit-and-finish details that could be improved. ... show more

Transport a 12.5 ft ladder anywhere, even in a car!
I’m really happy with this telescoping ladder. In fact Im downright surprised how good it is! The 12.5-foot height is perfect for reaching those higher areas around the house without having to deal with a full-size extension ladder. It feels sturdy when fully extended and gives me plenty of confidence while using it. I really like how easily it collapses down when I’m finished. It takes up very little space compared to a traditional ladder, so it’s easy to store in the garage or even in the back of a vehicle. Be VERY careful to keep fingers out the way of getting pinched though. It will HURT! The telescoping design also makes it much easier to transport from one job to another. The locking strap is easy to use, and I like being able to extend it to the height I actually need instead of having to use the entire ladder every time. Overall, it’s a very convenient and versatile ladder, especially for homeowners who don’t have a lot of storage space like me. It's a lifesaver when all you have is a small shed! Great value for the price! ... show more

Doesn't seem safe
I will be the first to say I don't know ladders and have watched contractors scale up ladders with no care to how much it's bouncing around so please understand this might be normal, but after extending this ladder we took a video show just how much it wobbles. We won't be using it fully extended so it wont matter but I did take a star off for that. The next star is absolutely no instructions on how to put it together. It does seem quite straight forward, but we had to take out plastic inserts in order to add the support brace at the bottom. We couldn't figure out how to use them again once the brace was back on so it was a big question mark as to if they are ever necessary or just used to get it to us. Lastly there is no indicator of who made this, or any kind of certified "safe" other than a sticker in Chinese that says certified good by inspector number 13. I have no idea if china's safety standards are up to par or not so it makes me nervous. Further proven by the fact that when collapsing the ladder it appears there is a safety mechanism that stops it from slamming the rungs together potentially with your fingers squished inside, but that perceived safety mechanism only works about half the time. If you don't go the full 12 feet I think this will be a fine ladder and nice to have with a horse trailer to get things on an off the top hay rack, but I would keep searching for ones that have received some kind of safety certification. ... show more

Compact, and convenient for around-the-house jobs
The biggest advantage of this telescoping ladder is how compact and convenient it is. Unfolding and extending it is quick enough, making it easy to set up for jobs around the house. Folding it back up, however, takes a little more time since you have to unlock each section one by one to collapse the ladder. That seems to be part of the trade-off with the individual locking design. The ladder does feel a little flimsy and isn't nearly as sturdy or solid as the heavy-duty ladders contractors typically use. That said, for everyday household tasks like reaching high shelves, changing lights, or other occasional jobs, it seems perfectly adequate as long as it's used properly and all of the locks are securely engaged. The included J-hooks are another area where the construction could be better. They feel a bit flimsy, although they seem to hold well enough once they're hooked onto a sturdy object. Overall, it's quick to set up, compact, and convenient to store, which makes it a good option for occasional household use. Just don't expect the same rock-solid feel or heavy-duty construction you'd get from a contractor-grade ladder. ... show more

Love it
I really like this ladder, especially because of how compact it is when collapsed. Getting a 12.5 foot ladder that can shrink down small enough to easily store or throw in a vehicle is a huge advantage. For me, that is easily the best feature. I have seen complaints about these telescoping ladders flexing, and this one definitely does flex when fully extended. That does not necessarily mean it is unsafe when it is properly extended, locked, positioned, and used within its rated capacity, but the movement can be unnerving. If you are already uncomfortable on ladders, the flex will probably freak you out. If you are comfortable using extension ladders, it is much less concerning. For someone who wants a more rigid feeling under their feet, I would probably recommend an A frame ladder instead. Overall, I am really happy with it. It gives me the reach of a much larger ladder without having to find somewhere to store a full size extension ladder. Just make sure you follow the instructions, verify every section is locked before climbing, and understand that some flex comes with this style of ladder. ... show more

Nice telescoping ladder
This telescoping ladder is very well built and is easy to move from place to place. The ladder is very compact when it is lowered in the storage position. The ladder has a strap to lock the ladder in the storage position which makes moving the ladder an easy task. The ladder extends out to the use position very easily and the retraction of the ladder after use is very easy and straight forward. The ladder is much lighter then my other folding ladder and allows the ladder to be moved around to different locations with ease. The ladder is supplied with a wide stabilizer foot bar that make the ladder a more solid climbing experience. The ladder makes roof access a easier task as this ladder is not as large and heavy to move around and it provides good stability in use. ... show more

Directions were non-existent so it took some doing, but pleasantly surprised
The directions to put this thing together were non-existent, but After figuring it all out we are still pleasantly surprised. It seems decently well made and from a transport perspective it's a very useful tool to have. Look some selves are nothing special but if you don't have a second set of hands to hold the ladder they'll definitely be appreciated. All in all good value for what you get especially if you don't have a lot of space to transport or store a ladder ... show more
