Who knew there was already a wiring harness plug hidden in the back floor panel of your 2003-8 Honda Pilot (and other cars listed)? This wiring kit just literally clips into this wiring plug (pop off the panel cover) and then you replace the cover and plug the other end to your trailer lights and then turn n brake lights on trailer work in tandem along with those on your car. I couldn’t believe it was that easy but it was. Took me less than 5 minutes. Shameful that I have been sneaking around on short trips without the lights on my trailer working for years because I thought this was something special I had to have an auto shop install. Crazy easy and works great. I bought the magnetic “stick on” trailer lights and just pop them on when headed out to town for anything and then just remove when I’m using the trailer around the farm. Was towing a U-haul and discovered the old hook up converter box went bad after 10yrs. Ordered this and arrived 2 days later and had it installed and routed under the trim 15 mins later. Autozone sells the kind you have to cut and splice, but this one plugs right in to a connector on the left side light assembly under the trim. Works great and Fits perfectly on a 2002 Honda Odyssey with no cutting and splicing. ... show more

A bit pricey for a wire connector, but for those of us with limited experience and patience with electrical connections it’s a real time saver and worth every penny. Connectors and wires are reasonable quality, and came nicely packaged.

Pros - Hooks right into the pre-wired harness, plenty long enough at the trailer hitch Cons - instructions. Took about 30 mins to put it in. Would have given it 5 stars except for the instructions. Instructions up to the point of where to run it out of the vehicle are very good, but end with no mention of where it exits the vehicle to get to the trailer hitch. One of the body plugs. Do not cut out, just slice a hole inside the plug and press the connector through it and then reinstall the plug. The connector takes some effort to get through the round hole, you have to bend it and push it through at the same time. It will go just takes effort. My biggest problem were the body bolts, plastic body pins, when I pulled them out of the hatch trim they exploded, and when I was trying to line up the side panel pins, to reinstall it, I got 2 of them in but one missed and as I tried to push it in I crushed it and the pin down near the hold down D ring fell off. Well to get to the one near the D ring you have to just about yank out the whole panel. I got it in missing two body pins, but it works. Would it be worth taking to the shop and letting them do it? Depends on how frustrated you get when trying to put it back together. Taking it apart is the easy part, back together is the frustrating part. ... show more

I purchased this to hook a trailer up to my 1999 Honda Cr-v. Installation was a breeze. There is a plug behind the drivers side rear compartment speaker that this harness plugged into perfectly. Everything seems to work great, except I have to figure out why my trailer lights don't light up when I turn the headlights on. Probably the trailer, not the harness. ... show more

used on 2005 honda pilot . went online and found video for that model. had to remove a panel and fish out factory female trailor plug. the 118336 wiring harness plugged right in and all lights , blinkers , worked great . also there was plenty of length to hook up to my boat wires .... excellent purchase ... show more
