Size: 65 inches
When I sold my house I left my nice Samsung TV's with the buyer - TV's don't transport well and tech changes so rapidly. Left with no TV's in the new house I began shopping - so many sites, endless reviews, opinions out the whazoo. For starters, this set would be for casual watching in a bright room - news, some sports, an occasional movie. The obvious location would support up to a 65". While I am a big Samsung fan I feel like they are no longer as aggressive about leading the market, so I explored other options. I wanted to balance tech, picture quality and price. Firmly in the midrange category is this TCL QM7K. It hit all the discriminators - mini LED for great brightness and solid blacks, excellent PQ with good adjustability for movies, sports, gaming etc, and very good for a bright room. Given it is a 2025 the price was right. Amazon delivery was flawless, mounting and setup was easy, and connectivity to my network was without issue. The negatives are a cheap feeling remote and enough Google TV bloatware to choke a hippo. Sound is decent although the Bang & Olsen sound system is more marketing hype than performance - I brought my Sonos soundbar with me. All in all, great picture, very good price, and overall solid value. ... show more

  • Amazing TV for a low, low price
Size: 65 inches
This TV performs well outside its price-range. Im not qualified to get into specs and tech, but the picture quality is so, so great. Google platform is seamless and easy to navigate. The sound for a regular TV, is quite impressive, with built-in speakers with subwoofers that can be seen from the back. If you're in an apartment or small room, absolutely zero need for a soundbar. Reddit forums also praise this for being a steal for the money. The remote is great as well with voice control, and backlit buttons when its dark. ... show more

  • Best tv for your money
Size: 55 inches
My old Hisense TV died and needed a new one. Thank goodness for the Prime sale. I was originally going to get a Samsung, but I didn’t want to spend so much on it. I found this TV from doing my own research. I’m so glad I got this TV cuz the picture quality is amazing for the price. And the sound is awesome! You don’t need a soundbar for this. The built in subwoofers are great! The TV is easy to set up once you connect it to WiFi or ethernet. There’s no lag like i’ve seen in older TCL TV’s. I love that it is compatible with Apple AirPlay. I didn’t mount it, but it is very stable on a TV stand. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • THE TV IS OUTSTANDING!
Size: 55 inches
EDIT: The TV is AMAZING. The review still goes out to Amazon since it was shipped and sold by Amazon and Amazon Resale. The picture, colors, sound and everything is amazing. Especially for the kind of upgrade I made going from an older model LG smart 4K HDR TV. It is worth it! The size is perfect for my room, though maybe the 65inch would of been a slightly better view/size. But I am more than happy with it! It is comparable to even some top tier TV's since this is considered a mid-tier TV and what sold me is some youtube videos of it. Again, the Sound, Image/Color, Smoothness of the TV is worth it! ---------- I thought I'd be saving money from buying a "Used - Acceptable" condition TV from AMAZON who I could trust in shipping something that would arrived in the condition they've mentioned, BUT NO. They did a terrible job checking the TV if it had adequate protective packaging before being sent off. All it had was on one side of the display screen a cardboard with a thin piece of foam and the bottom a bit of the foam, but the surrounding had NOTHING else to protect the TV. It would OBVIOUSLY move around during shipping and get damaged but of course they didn't care. They couldn't put more protective material in on their part, sadly. They just sent it off to waste my time, take my money, and now I have to wait on my refund because of their fault... I had to waste my own time and gas to return it and I went again to BUY the TV AGAIN but this time, in a more better condition, "Like New". Still waiting on refund though. But you would think they would make it up to you or something but nah, they wouldn't do much. Even the delivery driver (FedEx) looked worried and wanted to make sure it wasn't his fault as the box looked destroyed and the power cable sticking out of the box (and a missing TV remote) and mentioned this is exactly how he received it. It was my first experience with "Amazon Warehouse" to receive something like that. Buyers beware of buying "Acceptable" condition items, because protective packaging might not be there. There was no mention in the description either! ... show more

  • Wow! No I mean, WOW!!
Size: 65 inches
This is by far the finest TV purchase I have ever made. Color, blackness/contrast unbelievable. It is located in front of a West facing patio door. I finished setting it up just as the sun was blazing through the glass behind it. What tip the scales in choosing this model was its claim of extreme brightness and clarity from the picture. So I turned it on full sun behind it And unlike any other TV that I've had in that exact location which became washed out due to the light level of the room this was Crisp and clear, I wanted to see how high the brightness was set It gave me such a great picture so I moved on to the settings hello and behold to my great surprise the percentage brightness was set at a mere 28%! Additionally being 66 years of age a blue collar worker surrounded by loud machinery all day My hearing is failing The B&O Soundsystem built in with subwoofers as allowed me to listen to this TV clearly at a far reduced volume level than any other TV I have ever owned and those around me are amazed and say the TV sounds wonderful. For the first time in a long time I'm truly ecstatic with this purchase. I give it five out of five stars! ... show more

  • Brief pros and cons of the 55QM7K
Size: 55 inches
Coming from a FHD tv from the mid 2010’s, I believe just about any tv made within the past five years would be a massive upgrade for me. It’s incredible what time and tech advances bring to consumers and I’m going to list my pros and cons of the TCL 55QM7K. The Pros: Brightness. For transparency, both auto brightness and contrast are disabled. I have to keep this television brightness at 50 or lower as anything above 50 causes my eyes to water while watching SDR content. With HDR, brightness is usually at 100 and it’s more than sufficient for the moderately to dimly lit room that it resides. I’m very impressed. Color and contrast. Fantastic contrast that I believe can only be surpassed by an OLED. Coming from my 2010’s LCD LG I couldn’t believe how much depth there was in the image by comparison. The color pops thanks to the local dimming, but there is an issue. More on that in the cons section. Connectivity. Dual HDMI 2.1 and dual HDMI 2.0 is awesome and very welcome for me as I run a PC for gaming and media playback in my living room. I game at 120hz at full resolution and, while there is something to be mentioned later, the image is smooth and colorful. The tv also features USB 2.0 and 3.0 as well as an Ethernet port (though it’s only 100mb). Remote. A motion sensing, backlit remote is super cool and should be the trend. A trend that should go away, though, are incorporating streaming services into a remote. Build quality. It feels solid and premium. I’m very impressed. The cons: Viewing angles. The biggest issue most will probably have is off-axis viewing. When not looking at the television head-on, the color becomes muted and the contrast and local dimming suffer greatly. It’s noticeable even at small angles. Watching a movie or show dead-on center will give you the best experience. I purchased the 55” version and it sits 7’-8’ away from me. Any larger and I’d imagine I’d see discoloration at the corners and edges. That being said, I’ve definitely seen worse. Speakers. Many people love them but I’m not a fan of the processing TCL has incorporated. I feel as if there is a compressor that, no matter the audio preset, is always on. You can attach any name you want to these speakers but at the end of the day, they’re tv speakers. Hopefully a firmware update will improve their performance. Motion smoothing. Love it or hate it, a lot of people, myself included, enjoy the soap opera effect. But this implementation isn’t great. I’ve seen hitching on higher settings (medium and high) as well as digital artifacts on panning and high movement scenes. The best setting here is to enable Custom, Blur Reduction at zero, and Judder Reduction at two or three. This maintains the films image while granting a small amount of smoothing. If hitching is still occurring, try using the Sport preset instead of Movie or Filmmaker then configure your Motion settings. The middle. I’ll keep this fairly brief as this has already become a long-winded review. I didn’t test the 144hz refresh rate as I’m trying to preserve my PC’s entry level GPU, so I can only speak about my experience at 120hz. While it is very smooth, there is some pixel overshoot happening. Maybe running at a higher refresh rate would correct this but I am comfortably content. Captions and text on screen look funny thanks to the local dimming. Low light scenes in movies and shows can look a little blurry in motion. This could be a setting toggle kind of fix but I’m unsure. In retrospect, it looks as if I’ve listed a lot more to dislike than there is to like. So, why four stars? Most of this is a comparison to what this tv replaced and, while it’s not perfect, it does greatly surpass my old LG. TCL has continued to deliver firmware updates for this model for nearly a year since its release at the time of this review, and it seems each firmware version brings a new feature or two. Overall, I am very happy to step into the 2020’s. ... show more

  • The Ultimate "Dumb" TV Setup for Privacy Lovers
Size: 55 inches
If you are conscious of privacy and tired of smart TVs selling your data to third parties, this is the perfect solution. Out of the box, this TV pairs flawlessly with the Apple TV 4K, delivering a premium, privacy-centered experience at a mid-range price. The picture quality is phenomenal, fully supporting Dolby Vision 4K at 60FPS and good, loud speakers. How to Set It Up for Total Privacy You can completely bypass the smart TV tracking by following these steps during the initial setup: Choose "Basic TV": When you first boot up the TV, you will have the option to choose Basic or Smart. Select Basic. Skip Wi-Fi Setup: Do not connect the TV to your wireless network. Congratulations, you now have a "dumb" TV! Plug and Play: Connect your Apple TV to the HDMI port. Enable CEC: Turn on HDMI-CEC in your Apple TV settings. The Result: A privacy-centered, offline display where everything is controlled perfectly with just the Apple TV remote. Power, volume, and input switching work flawlessly, you can tuck the TCL remote away in a drawer. ⚠️ Important Note on Mounting Screws Not Included: VESA mounting screws are not included in the box. You will need to provide your own hardware, and potentially some spacers for the bottom two mounting holes. It does include hardware for the included stand ONLY. Check the Manual: Hardware requirements vary depending on the screen size you order. Be sure to check the user manual on Amazon ahead of time to ensure you have the correct screw sizes on hand. ... show more

  • An Excellent All-Around TV That Looks & Performs at High-End But at a Reasonable Price
Size: 55 inches
A very good all around TV. Size is perfect for a bedroom or living room, with wall mounting or using the included stand. Sound quality is impressive - much better than most TVs. Screen brightness and color quality is wonderful, and the performance for running intensive apps is very good with no noticeable lagging. The Google TV interface is my favorite of all the smart TV interfaces. This TV will also run most android-based side-loaded apps which are not available on Google App Store for TVs but mobile phones only, like MotoAmerica and IPTVSmarters for example, and will run them perfectly. The remote is VERY intuitive and responsive with great battery life. ... show more
