    • Impressive!
I got this one because it was the same brand as my tv and was not too expensive, so I was not expecting much. Indeed, the sound is quite flat out of the box. You have to configure the levels to your room and taste first. But once you do, the sound quality is excellent for its form factor. The highs are crisp and the lows are boomy. The dialog is clear and I have not noticed any audio clipping from any of the six loudspeakers with good quality audio sources. The soundbar handles DTS and Bluetooth just fine and integrates nicely with Roku TCL TVs; I barely have to use the soundbar remote at all since all the functions are in the Roku side-menu. The remote has buttons for Bluetooth, media control, sound mode, DTS X, and DTS True Volume. There are also buttons labeled "Voice", "Bass Boost", and "Surr", which control the levels of the center, subwoofer, and rear loudspeakers, respectively. There is also separate bass and treble controls. The subwoofer is not the best on the market, but it does boom well with movies in a very "theater-like" way and thumps the room with good music. I stuffed mine with a little Polyfil, and it sounds much better (do not use too much!!). TCL does sell a version with a much better sub. With stereo sources, such as music or television, the rear loudspeakers operate as if on an old '70s Hafler circuit, so you still get 3D space and the ambient sounds (L-R) from the rear from stereo recordings. I would recommend for a small to medium living room or a bedroom. Get the version with the bigger sub and rears for larger rooms. ... show more

    • Great sound
I hooked this up in my bedroom because the TV has back facing speakers so it was loud in the room behind where we have the TV. This allowed us to put the sound in the front and the speakers on our nightstand without wires. This has a sub that puts out a ton of bass and the additional speakers plug into it. So the bar is independent (electric plug and other wires) from the rest of the system. The rear speakers connect to the sub with plenty of cable. ... show more

So far it seems ok. As others have suggested, the sub woofer isn’t great. My biggest complaint is that it was clearly an open box item yet it wasn’t sold as that or discounted accordingly.

Great decent sound system great for bedrooms not for living rooms , I have a $1,500 Bose in my living and that’s the best sound system I’ve ever heard however this tcl system is a great sound system for the price in a bedroom but that’s my recommendation more then just a decent sound. I’m using this with my two tv so they work great together If anything changes I’ll update my reviews ... show more

I have a TCL Roku TV so I was hoping that this sound bar would be a good match for it. But I have encountered a couple of issues. The first one is that the subwoofer makes gurgling sounds when people are talking. It is letting too high frequencies through to the subwoofer. I have tried various settings and options and ended up just unplugging the subwoofer. The second problem is that voices are often out of sync with the video. When gotten out the box was dented tested the sound was working for every bit of 5 mins . Speaker went in static and no sound at all will not buy again

    • Good speakers
Easy to set up. Woofer and speakers are small but powerful. We frequently feel bad cause we assume we're too loud for our neighbors. Easy to connect. Subwoofer is hub for the rear speakers to receive signal and power. We just put the subwoofer behind the couch.
