I have been doing novice and ‘amateur’ tattoos for around 7 years (this is met with much disdain and opposition from my family), but I have yet to find a portable tattoo gun that works as well as this one! I started with stick and poke (no) and have used several similar tattoo guns in the past. It’s relatively quiet, has a nice weight to it, and does both line work and shading seamlessly. I’ve yet to graduate to larger or more complex art, but for the simpler designs and lettering I’ve been using, it works amazingly. I did my first tattoo on myself. I want to note this kit does NOT come with transfer gel! You will need to purchase that separately.I have plenty of tattoos done by artists. I’ve always been really good at drawing and just decided to try to do my own. I went with this option because it was the cheapest with the best reviews. I practiced a few lines on the practice skin that comes with the kit and just took the jump and did it on myself. This is my first attempt and it didn’t take long to get the hang of how to use it and have to say I started feeling really confident for someone who never used a tattoo machine before. It comes with a decent amount of stuff you need to get started. I recommend purchasing gloves that is your personal size. The ink gets everywhere really quickly and the ones they provided were too big. I also didn’t realize the kit doesn’t come with the transfer gel. Love it so far ... show more
