I am new to tattooing. I bought this kit because I wanted to begin practicing on fake skins. I don't really know too much about tattooing, but as I educate myself and practice, I find that this was the best kit for a beginner like myself. The pen is easy to use, and I don't get any hand fatigue while using it. It is comfortable to grip and become accustomed to. It is kind of noisy, so I have to practice when my family is out or sleep. I like everything I need as a beginner is included. It holds a charge for a long time, and it seems pretty durable. I would recommend this set for beginnlike myself or as a gift for someone who is interested.

The media could not be loaded. This set comes with everything you need to get started and is the most comprehensive set I've found so far at this price point. I'm just in the beginning phases of learning how to tattoo, and I've tried many different kits now. This kit includes everything you need to get started, including 80 cartridges that help you practice both lining and shading (20 each 03, 07 and 09 RL, and 07RM). The on/off, depth adjustments, and speed fine-tuning were fairly easy and self-explanatory. The gun has an adjustable needle depth, which really helps when you're trying to learn how far to hold the gun to get the right skin depth (1-2 mm). It also comes in a convenient carrying-case, which is very handy if you want to carry it with you on a trip. I still don't feel confident working on actual skin, so I'm still just practicing with skins (included) and intermittently shading in some decades-old scars from an old accident to try it out on actual skin. I've been looking for somewhere that does paramedical tattooing in my area for years, and failing to find a reliable provider, decided to take matters into my own hands. I was easily able to mix the ink to a flesh tone (red, blue, yellow, and white) in the included ink cups, which come in various sizes. This is great since the ink bottles are small trial-sized bottles, so you can use a smaller cup and not waste ink or risk hitting the cup bottom and ruining the needle. The included gloves provided a nice germ barrier after I'd sterilized all required skin areas. This machine was easy to handle and allows for steady handling and an even and consistent depth, and the needle didn't hurt any more than professional tattoos. The ink was deposited evenly over the scar tissue area and is healing evenly. The skin trauma was no worse than any of the professional tattoos I've ever gotten, and the healing went by without a hitch, though it was itchier than normal as expected due to the tattoo being done over a keloid scar. Overall, this is a very user-friendly kit for someone who wants to explore tattooing and is an excellent value for the money. Plenty of ink, cartridges, and skins to practice many different styles and applications.

This is a great kit for both inexperienced and experienced alike. Because I am experienced, I won't use the ink on real skin. I just goof around on practice skins with it but the machine itself is really great. I like how it feels in my hand and I have used it on some real tattoos and was pleased with its performance. It's adjustability and how long the battery lasted. It was definitely enough to finish my job.

SUMMARY This tattoo pen is okay quality. It’s easy to use and comfortable to hold. The price for the kit as a whole is inexpensive. The supplies that are included are not meant to last long, nor is the quality great. But, the pen and the supplies are meant to be used for practicing on fake skin, not real skin. When taking that into account I say this kit is ideal for beginners. This tattoo pen is quite loud, even on the lower settings. The vibration is fairly low. The battery life and charging time are comparable with other pens in the same price range. The life of the battery depends on voltage used, stroke and needle choice. I prefer machines with replaceable batteries versus ones that are integrated into the pen, because if there’s a problem with the battery the whole pen will have to be replaced. I love the adjustment interval is 0.1 V versus adjusting 1 or 2 volts at a time because you get a more precise setting. The carry case is nice to have also, for storage and travel. CONCLUSION Considering the price, in my opinion, you can’t go wrong, as long as the noise isn’t bothersome to you and possibly your clients if you decide to become a tattoo artist.
