This 20' x 20' "fire retardant" tarp was extremely expensive at $339.95. A tarp that expensive should be high quality and last a long time you'd think. Set onto a firewood pile in Nov 2022, anchored down to withstand the high winds of winter storms in the Lake Tahoe climate, the tarp was inspected following May and found that wherever it contacted the ground, it had disintegrated and/or dissolved. I was shocked to see what it transformed into, it's edges crumpled, hardened and material missing as if it melted away. Reluctantly I added yet another PITA product warranty claim to my to-do list. Ohh yes, the NOT-SO-FUN task of having to babysit yet another crappy product. As if a consumer doesn't have anything better to do... I finally got 'round to it this spring. I contacted Tarps Now through Amazon Messaging portal here. After sending in photos, they replied with excuse after excuse: "Thank you for the pictures. I have reviewed them with my supervisor and she said that the canvas tarps are not recommended for prolonged outdoor use." WHAT?? Are you kidding me? A fire retardant indoor/outdoor tarp "not recommended for prolonged outdoor use." Excuse me, then what exactly is this tarp for? Then the rep stated: "The tarp you have ordered is an imported tarp and only has a 30 day warranty therefore no warranty would apply. Thank You, Tarps Now" I responded with a review of the descriptions they used for this product: "Tarps Now Fire Retardant Canvas Tarp with Brass Grommets - Industrial Grade Heavy Duty Tarp Sheet Cover Multipurpose Tarpaulin for Indoor and OUTDOOR". Nowhere in the Amazon product description does it say that this tarp is "not recommended for prolonged outdoor use". The Amazon product description video states: The product has "Multiple Uses", is "Made with Premium Materials", is "Durable" and "Long Lasting" and "UV Ray & Mildew Resistant". The Amazon Product Description Image (PDI) 1 states: "GREAT OUTDOOR APPLICATIONS", Amazon PDI 2 states: "HEAVY-DUTY CANVAS TARP industrial grade canvas tarp, it's made with cotton canvas duck fibers. This tarp ensures performance in all weather conditions with durability." Amazon PDI 3 shows the tarp on top of a pile of wood with snow all around it. That is exactly how I used it. That photo implies a correct use of the tarp is to cover wood for winter storage. Amazon PDI 4 states: "Water-Resistant, 100% Industrial Grade, Breathable, UV Ray Resistant, Tough, Mildew resistant”. After that the best they could do is offer a discount on a vinyl tarp and restated that my product was "out of warranty". I reiterated to them my requirements from CalFire is to cover our wood pile with a fire retardant tarp, not a vinyl tarp. I continued that this was no longer a claim for warranty service, but is now a claim for misrepresentation of a product features, durability, advertised use and performance. They did not respond after that. Conclusion: A $339 tarp that doesn't last 7 months! I'd say: KEEP AWAY FROM THIS TARP AND THIS COMPANY – They don't stand behind their products or their claims of superior customer service: "You will benefit from our commitment to provide outstanding products and service in a timely manner. Tarps Now runs our business with the customer’s needs in mind." <–– WHAT?? Doesn’t appear so! “Buy your tarps with confidence!” <–– WHAT?? I don't think so!

The tarp is tough but after being out all night in a light rain the tarp was soaked on both sides. I'm using it to cover my portable generator, so it needs to be, at least, water resistant. Yes, I had a slope on the tarp so water would run off. I'll still use it but will put a cheap blue vinyl tarp over the top..Also the description says the 6x8 is 16 oz but it's only 10
