I first was skeptical of the price versus the quality that would end up at my door. They shipped it quickly and I was amazed at the actual size, quality and weight. The unit was very easy to install I just caution anyone looking to buy one to really think on placement. The electric wire is very expensive and you have to run 2 sets of it, I used 6-2 romex x 2 and then had to buy 2- 40amp 220 breakers. Depending on how far from your breaker box is from the unit it may cost you more in wire than the unit itself. Installing the hanger brackets needs to be precise measurement it calls for in the install directions, being off by an 1/8 inch doesn't let it sit tight on the wall. At this time it has been 3 days since I installed it and it works great, very easy to set the temp. I personally like seeing the actual flow rate displayed when it calls for hot water. It brings the water temp up quickly and it holds it at that temp consistently. I understand that the water temp output will be directly affected to the water temp input so we will wait and see what the winter has in store for us but I feel confident that I chose the correct size and proper placement. At this point in time I am very pleased that I purchased this unit and I would recommend it to anyone skeptical on buying one. Just remember buying the proper unit for your area and household size does make a difference. Replaced existing undersink water heater in my woodshop but located this one in a more accessible location for future maintenance and easy access to the controls. It works great and the seller did a find job of delivering and supporting my installation. I highly recommend following the advice of installing descaler valves (not included), which give you hose connections and valves in a compact unit for future descaling. My previous two demand water heaters have failed after a few years because I did not follow this advice and never descaled them. Descaling (with vinegar or a commercial descaling solution) should be done once per year or so depending on your water hardness. There are several YouTube videos on how to do this. If you have the right valves installed below the water heater, this process appears to be quite simple. ... show more

I liked the compact size of this unit and decided to order one to have in my shop. Installation wasn't bad except for the wiring, it requires two 40 amp breakers so double the work to run power to the unit. It worked great! Just set the temp and in 10ish seconds it provides hot water as long as you need. Then one day it wasn't working but after some research I discovered two reset buttons on heating element terminals. I pushed them they clicked and it's working again! ... show more

My neighbors bought this heater and it works perfectly. Unfortunately, the place where I was trying to use it was not accommodating. Some people blame the products when doing reviews, but it’s not the heater. The area where I initially wanted to use it was too large. I will try to use it in another place in my house. Item arrived and I unboxed it to find that the case face was damaged and 3 of the 4 machine screws that are supposed to hold the heating element down were loose and rattling around inside, which left me very unimpressed. The heating element is currently held down by four machine screws that screw into sheet metal brackets welded to the case back. I suspect that, due to the weight of the heating element and maybe some rough handling after manufacture, these machine screws worked them self out (one actually did strip altogether) and then one or more got trapped between the heating element and the case front. In communication with the sellers (who are very good, BTW), I suggested that instead of just relying on the bracket to hold such a heavy component, that each bracket should also have a clip nut. I also asked for a replacement front cover, but accepted a $20 goodwill refund when told that none was available. So I hooked the unit up and it actually works quite well. The thermostat seems to be a bit of a wild card, and I haven't played around with it enough yet to figure out if it's over-reading or not, but it appears to be 10 degrees off (higher) than the actual water temperature at the tap. To see if at least some of that temperature loss is between the heater and the tap (which is about 50 feet away - had to put the unit where I currently had 240v for now) I would need to disconnect the hot side again, which I may or may not do. Also, after a bunch of messing around trying to increase the indicated water flow (which, for me, eventually maxed out at 1.4gpm), I am now under the very distinct impression that this unit is incapable of delivering more than 1.5gpm, which is admittedly all the manufacturer claims in at least some of their product info., But, still, they do persist in showing 1.8gpm in all the pictures of the unit and claim a theoretical 1.8gpm in the manual. Certainly I have enough delivery for hand washing but doubt the unit would be acceptable for showering. Please feel free to comment if you have the same unit and are doing better with it (commenting requires a computer - the app does not support this feature). Upate: Unit has failed today with an E2 error code that comes up moment the unit has power applied to it after resetting via the circuit breaker. Have only been able to clear the code and get the unit to resume heating once by resetting the breaker, only to have it shut off with the same error code after less than a minute of operation. Am waiting on contact from the seller but am not optimistic since the unit is out of warranty by 3 months and other reviewers seem to have had customer service issues. ... show more
