Bought this for my daughter for fall and she was pretty happy with it. The cropped trench shape is a more interesting look than a plain jacket, and theres a lot of thoughtful detail here for the price. The plaid accents on the cuffs and the hood lining are the standout. Just enough pattern to give it personality without going overboard, and the contrast against the neutral shell makes it look more expensive than it was. Its fully lined inside which I did not expect at this price and it makes a big difference in how finished it looks. Practical stuff is good too. Full length zipper plus hidden snaps so you can close it either way or both, deep angled side pockets, and little pleats at the elbows so theres room to move. Lightweight enough for those 50 and 60 degree days without being a heavy coat. Runs roomy so keep that in mind. Ours works but theres plenty of space to layer a sweater underneath, and if your between sizes I'd go down rather than up. The reason its 4 stars is the hood. Its detachable, which is fine, but its held on with four small white buttons and thin elastic loops. Against everything else on this jacket those look cheap and I dont have much confidence in the loops holding up long term. Also the hood has long tie pieces hanging off it that are kind of odd looking. She mostly wears it without the hood which gives a cleaner look anyway. Not water resistant despite being called a trench, so dont plan on it for actual rain. Fix the hood attachment and this is an easy 5. Still a good buy and she's wearing it.

I really like this jacket! I got a large because I wanted it roomy enough to wear over a sweater, although I think a medium would probably fit me. I'm 5'2" and it hits me around mid-hip, which is a perfect cropped length for me. On someone taller, it would probably look noticeably more cropped. I've often had to order XL in similar clothing from these types of listings, but this one seems to be much closer to American sizing. The detachable hood gives the jacket a more casual look when you want it, but you can remove it for a cleaner, more polished trench-coat look. I really like the funnel collar, which is flattering when the hood is off. The hood gives it versatility without taking away from the overall style. The sleeves have a plaid lining that can be turned up to show the contrast, giving you another way to style the jacket. The entire jacket is lined with a smooth polyester lining, which is especially nice when wearing it over a sweater because it slides on easily over your clothing. It has two side slip pockets that are handy for keeping your hands warm or carrying a few small essentials. The fabric is lightweight, but the jacket has enough room and structure to work well as a transitional fall or spring layer. Although it's trench-coat inspired, I don't think this looks overly casual. It could easily be worn with jeans for a more relaxed outfit or paired with a dress or skirt when you want something a little more polished.

I really wanted to love this coat. The color is great, the fabric is nice, and the fit was okay. However, the hood is just weird with the long pieces meant to be tied. And sure, I could remove the hood, but that defeats the purpose of a jacket with a hood. I feel like it runs a little small in the torso diameter. I will be returning it, despite the many cute details (hello cute upturned cuffs!), because that hood is a disaster. If they removed those long ties and made it a normal hood, this would be a GREAT jacket.

I’m really impressed with this jacket. It looks exactly as pictured, the color is beautiful, and I found the fit true to size and very flattering. The plaid cuffs and scarf-style tie on the hood add just enough detail to make it stand out without making it feel overly trendy or busy. It still looks polished and neutral enough to style easily with a lot of different outfits. I also love that the hood is detachable, so you can completely change the look when you want something simpler. This isn’t a heavy-duty coat, but it isn’t meant to be. It’s the perfect lightweight layer for that awkward transitional weather when it’s too cool to go without a jacket but not cold enough for a heavier coat. Really cute, versatile, and well made.

This is a cute, lightweight jacket that’s perfect for spring and fall when the temperatures drop into the 50s and 60s here in Florida. It has a lot of thoughtful details: a covered zipper with a snap closure, a neckline that stands up a little higher, a removable built-in hood and scarf, and little pleats at the elbows (the kind you sometimes see on motorcycle jackets for better movement). I ordered the khaki version in size Small, and it’s quite roomy. If you’re a size 8, you’ll have plenty of room to layer. If you’re a size 6 or smaller, it will likely feel too oversized. I plan to wear it without the hood and scarf - it gives a cleaner look. The jacket is slightly fitted but still a bit boxy, and for my 5’3” frame the hood and scarf feel a little overwhelming. If I need one, I’ll opt to pair it with a lightweight wool or cashmere scarf. With its simple, clean lines (without the hood and scarf), I can see this jacket looking terrific with a lightweight merino or cashmere turtleneck, slim jeans, and lug-sole boots or loafers on cooler days. A practical and stylish piece for mild weather. It’s also a terrific little jacket to pack for travel. That’s when I would bring the hood and scarf along.

I really like the style of this cropped trench coat. It has a unique look that feels more interesting than a basic jacket, and the plaid detailing adds a nice touch without being overwhelming.
