Okay, it was harder to put together than I would have liked but I am 88 years old and got most of it done myself. It was missing 2 holes so I asked a friend to drill them and then finished screwing it together.I also needed help securing the fireplace but once it got together the unit was very sturdy. The size was perfect for my 55”tv, the black looks very good under my tv and the fireplace heats my small living room. I don’t mind that I needed help to assemble it because it is so beautiful that I am happy I bought it. I keep my thermostat low and use the fireplace which saves me money. ... show more

Tldr: Check the fireplace before assembly to make sure it works properly. Great customer service. After all is said and done, we love it. I bought this to replace a flimsy bookshelf that my husband was using to hold everything and the tv in his office. Every time he spun in his chair, he almost knocked the tv to floor. This is, by far, the most extensive assembly process we have ever encountered assembling our furniture and almost every piece of furniture we own came in a box needing to be assembled. We can normally knock out a large piece in about an hour working together. This took the two of us over 2.5 hours. There are a bunch of screws that are used to make the whole unit extremely secure. I have no fear of this piece falling apart anytime soon. After spending all of that time putting the unit together, we put everything in it, slid it back to plug it in, and turned on the fireplace to test it out...there was definitely a problem with the fan, as it made a high pitched buzzing and rhythmic thunking sound. Thus our communication with customer service ensued. We are not in the same time zone as the company, so it was a lot of back and forth via email. After a few emails and the submission of a video of the issue, they sent us a diagram explaining how to take the fireplace apart and most likely fix the problem. After getting a written guarantee that they would still honor the warranty of we did it, we took the fireplace apart. One whole section inside had come off during shipment. The repair was quick and simple. We put it back together, the buzzing is no louder than that of our other fireplace and the rhythmic thumping is gone. The company refunded a portion of the purchase price for our trouble, something you can tell is common practice as they didn't even hesitate to offer it. Now we absolutely love it. All in all, if you are used to putting together your furniture and your looking for a spacious, sturdy unit that can hold a large flat screen tv and has a fireplace in it, I would highly recommend this one. Just be prepared to have to contact customer service about fixing the obviously known fan issue. ... show more

We need HELP. The cabinet is pretty but the timer/fireplace is DEFECTIVE and does not work on the fireplace! The fireplace is worthless without a working timer. The timer has never worked from the first time we used it. We are extremely dissapointed. We have only had this fireplace/tv stand for one week and from day one the timer for the fireplace has never worked correctly. This unit is very unsafe! Purchased a few months ago. Heat stops working intermittently. Only fix is to unplug and plug back in. Now the flames have stopped working all together. Looks nice. Price is friendly. Quality isn’t bad. Just doesn’t seem to want to function properly.

Overall I was skeptical. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it went together, as well as the overall fit and finish. The doors come with soft close hinges, and the heater works great. I would recommend, and buy again. Ps. I tried uploading a photo, but I couldn’t get it to go through.
