I’m new to the beard game - a byproduct of working from home thanks to COVID-19. I never even knew a beard straightener was a thing until I grew out this mangy beard. I tried oils, balms, bore brushes, mustache wax - nothing really helped. I stumbled onto some info about beard straighteners and started looking them up on Amazon. There are a billion options to choose from - many are much cheaper than this one. After reading the reviews and searching google, I decided to gamble on this one, despite the higher price point. To start, the presentation is awesome. The carrying case is well made and fits everything nicely. I tried out the straightener for the first time this morning - and holy molly this thing works GREAT! I was VERY impressed with the results after so many other products left me hanging. It’s a well made device, despite coming out of China. Details are well thought out, such as the power cord that doesn’t get tangled up as you live the straightener around. It’s easy to use and heats up quickly. I was a little scared to put the hot straightener to my face but my fears were unfounded! It protects your skin and does it’s job of making unruly hairs submit to my will. I am very pleased with this and I strongly recommend it over the competitors. A must buy if your beard is as curly and crazy as mine is!! ... show more

    • Easy to use, heats quickly, and works.
My beard is wild. It's only about 2-3 inches long right now, but the hairs tend to run at all angles unless I spend a lot of time working at it. With this product, I spend just a few minutes. The brush heats quickly. The spray for keeping my hairs from over-heating helps straighten also. The only reason I gave ease-of-use a 4 instead of a 5 is because every once in awhile I burn my ear a little bit when I'm straightening the beard around there. It doesn't burn my face, although when using the spray, the steam heats my skin a bit, but not terribly and not uncomfortably enough to really complain. My beard tends to frazzle a little when straightening, mostly on the sides and a whole lot below the jawline. I rotate the brush slightly, turning it in a curling motion, and it seems to put just about every hair in place. The soap smells wonderful and doesn't leave my hair feeling scratchy, as it does with a regular soap. I very much recommend this product. ... show more

    • Nice, comprehensive kit, but strongly-scented heat protectant spray
Great case, love the straightening brush, expect to like the unscented beard balm (might mix it 50/50 with a scented balm I already have). Case has room for all its contents to be put back in - which you'll appreciate as much as I do if you've ever tried to put anything back into its original package. As others have said in their reviews, the fine-tooth side of the comb is harsh/sharp and needs sanding, but I won't take away stars for such a minor thing - I have sandpaper. 😀 Personally, I don't like the smell of the heat protectant spray. It is strongly scented and reminds me of body spray - too much to have so close to my nose. One pump's worth onto my hand for application to my beard made the bathroom smell like the spray for over an hour. I would drop half a star for the smell of the heat protectant spray if that were possible. The orange walnut beard soap, though, smells wonderful! Am strongly considering buying more of the soap. ... show more

With the first few uses I can tell a major difference in my not so tamable beard. I'm sold on Tame the Wild Products. I love the Pear Beard Comb. I enjoy that the products are not made of cedarwood, I have allergies to products that have ceader.. I am able to use this product.

No issues with the seller, everything delivered as promised. Comes in a nice carry case to keep everything neat when not in use. I have only used it 2 times so far and am not seeing the hair straightening out like I want. My beard is currently less than 1 inch and (to me) feels coarse. A lot of the hairs just go whatever way they feel like. I set it on High and as I let it warm I spray my beard with the included protection spray and work it in to the hair. After using the straightener the hair especially the wild ones still seem to go in what ever direction they want. I end up using the balm and brush to hold it all in place. I am hoping with continued use and as my beard gets longer the hair will finally cooperate. Update: I let my beard grow out to just over 1.5 inches and I continued to used the beard straightener as I went. I have to say that for me I saw no improvement in it's ability to straighten my beard hairs. No matter the temp set at the beard looked the same before and after use. HOWEVER, my moustache is a totally different story. For what ever reason it works perfectly on straightening my moustache hair. Which for me is perfect as I really need it for that as the CPAP I wear at night puts a weird curl in the hairs. This straightens them out with no problem, I wish it worked as well on the rest of the facial hair. ... show more

    • A hot brush that doesn't straighten...
First experience with a beard straightener; turns out it's just a hot comb. I tried this a few times and it made absolutely no difference. It doesn't really come with instructions but it says above they have articles and videos. There is no link to them. So before I wrote a review, I thought I'd try those. Emailed the company several days ago asking for a link and as of yet, no response. I'm a truck driver so I wasn't able to return it, but whatever. ... show more

*update* After a month of use one of the bristles split open. Overall its a good product but its a generic electric comb. That means its the same thing as the cheaper ones with the same settings. The packaging is nice but i don't think its worth almost $50 with the extras included. I bought this kit because i expected quality for the price. They sent me a damaged container. ... show more

I surprised my hubby with this and he's really liked having the option of smoothing out his beard. I do wish the soap came with some sort of case because I think that would help it last longer. I also haven't been able to find where you could just order the products individually to replace them, but maybe I just didn't look hard enough.
