1 year Update, Things are going south. For some reason the audio on everything other than the FM stereo sounds like its in mono. Very muffled and lots of static. Disconnected all phones, master reset, hard wired through USB and still the same. Switch to fm and its normal. Changed every setting I could and still the same. It worked great when it did but now its acting like a $100 radio 6 month update, (11/2/25) Radio is nice but the bass is insane (not in a good way) Even with all the settings in the EQ turned down the bass is still a 9/10, if you turn the EQ up the bass is 20/10. Its like the lows are just wayy too deep. Other thing, When listening to FM radio it constantly goes in and out of HD radio which is verry annoying. You have to listen to a streaming service to keep the audio consistent. For the price I would still call it a great value over the base radio. Just installed one of these today into a 2018 Ram with the small 5" radio and wow what a upgrade. Install was actually a breeze... Probably 45 minutes from start to finish. Everything was plug and play and required zero modifications to the stock harness/plugs to make it work 100%. Touch screen works great, the wireless carplay links right up and is very reactive. I was able to use the OEM rear backup camera without having to splice or do anything. Instructions on using the OEM camera and not the one that it came with were hard to find but was simple once I figured it out. The picture on here makes it seem as you connect your OEM camera to the USB that they have the red arrow pointing to. You simply plug the Yellow RCA "CAM CVRS" to the Yellow RCA "Camera IN" and you are done (see the picture I uploaded) Factory camera and factory lines show up on the screen and the lines still move when you turn the wheel. Another added bonus is when you adjust the fan speed and climate control it shows up on the screen... As you turn the temp up/down you now get a digital temp number on the screen (ex 71/72/73 Degrees F) vs just adjusting from the blue or red dial. I thought that was a pretty cool feature

I was reluctant initially to install one of these units despite their popularity, but after being patient for about a year until this one got enough positive reviews to give me confidence in the quality, I took the chance, and am very, VERY happy with the result. It wasn't as quick of an install as some of the folks here said, not for me, but then again I didn't watch any YouTube videos, either. It WAS all pretty straight forward and intuitive though, and I agree with many others here that the directions that came in the package were close to useless. The look of the unit when installed is aesthetically pleasing, looking about as close to a factory installation as you could get. The sound quality is very good, but during Bluetooth music playback I get the occasional skip, regardless of cell coverage. The internal GPS is a nice feature, given that if you lose cell coverage while using Android Auto you may also lose Google Maps. My wife's brand-new Toyota doesn't even have an onboard GPS without a paid subscription service, so this is a good feature. It does not have the uConnect capability, so the ability to adjust things like your trailer brake and such is lost in the change. I almost never needed that however, so for me it makes little to no difference, but if you are a user of the uConnect options through the factory computer interface, you will lose that ability with this unit. I have not installed the backup camera yet, and I haven't decided if I will or not. With that said, when I shift into reverse is still automatically brings up the camera display screen, and I wish there was a way to disable that. There may be, but I haven't been able to find the option in the settings. Finally, when you consider that repair or replacement of the factory unit is upwards of a thousand dollars, the value for the money is outstanding! Time will tell as to the longevity of the unit, but considering I only paid $130 for this, thus far I have to say I am very pleased. I would definitely recommend this system!

You know what I originally gave it 1 star, due to CarPlay not working which is the main reason I bought it, but. Easy install, I have a Ram 5500, I originally bought it due to limited market for the 5500 RAM radios. The connections are the same between 1500-5500 Rams. Only problem is the the bezel is a different size. I managed to make a bracket out of some metal I had laying around. Installed this radio with a subwoofer and the audio isn’t bad, just needs to be adjusted. Apps are downloadable from the android play store and gets a good WiFi connection. Bluetooth works fine. Bang for your buck? Sure. Cheap and quick, labeled wires for accessories, subwoofer. Wired right into rear camera. Has a bunch of cool features. The apps work pretty well. Navigation is slow but works. All in all 3/5. CarPlay is nonexistent. Install took 8 minutes.

I bought this to upgrade my 2017 ram 2500 that only had the 5 inch screen in it. The radio itself was extremely easy to put in, basically plug and play. The only downsides to it are the lack of instructions on how to work the radio, there's some settings that I'll have eventually figure out, also the radio isn't as loud as my stock radio. Everything seems really good quality, not cheaply made. I would recommend this radio to people, just don't expect a super loud radio. I already installed the factory reverse camera, so didn't use the one that was included. My camera came on and works great. Don't follow the instructions that say to plug into the usb though, you need to plug it in like that other reviewer did for your factory camera. Like I said, I'd recommend this radio for an upgrade from your factory radio.

***UPDATE*** I've had this item for almost a month now. Some of the carplay functions have stopped working. The factory back up camera is not compatible. Stay away from this piece of garbage. Manual is worthless, after I figured out how to install it, it was easy. Sound quality is mediocre, lots of bass that I can't fix. The correct backup camera cable (fakra k) was not included. I had to order a fakra z to RCA cable. I'll update if that works or not. Pros: looks like a factory piece, easy Android auto setup, easy install.

Good replacement for prior after-market system I believe was affected by heat/parking in the sun with no shaded area. I replaced a thousand dollar plus unit with this one and for my needs/purpose get similar performance for less than $150. The instructions provided with this unit were not extremely helpful but the installation went well using knowledge from my previous install experience. The sound quality is ok and wireless AirPlay seems to work fine. The OEM backup camera was an easy connect using the RCA plugs provided, the instruction sheet seemed to indicate installing an adapter or splicing cables or something but you just needed to plug in the yellow RCA cables for the OEM camera. My opinion, based on price vs features, is this is a great option for replacing the small 5 inch RAM pickup OEM units to get wireless carplay/android auto and a decent sized navigation screen with a nice quality display. This system does not support SiriusXM so if that's something you need, look elsewhere and at a higher price point. I quit SiriusXM due to better options streaming via CarPlay so it was not a factor for me.
