This is not my first trail cam but it is my first wifi cam, and I’m pleased with it. I got the basic $5.00, 250 picture package and was shocked at how fast 250 images added up. Setup is pretty straightforward, have your phone with you to scan the camera ip code. Mine was mounted and running in about 10 minutes. It takes great images and videos with sound. The battery useage is terrible in my opinion. My mini cams with 4 batteries last six months, these with 12 batteries - so far have lasted max two months. In the first month I upgraded to extra images and requested instant view, this apparently added to battery use. Either way, it is fun to watch the deer come into view. I set one of my mini cams on video next to it so I can watch videos if I want (this was done only to save battery usage). It doesn’t send videos, you’ll have to retrieve those from the card. ... show more

Love this camera - started with one and now have several. Great clear images with out of the box setup combined with excellent response. The phone app is also fantastic and notifications are fast - typically within 5-10 seconds of the photo being taken. The images by the way are the low res copies you get on the phone app - you can request hi res versions as needed. Highly recommended! ... show more

    • Works really well for me
Installed this as a security camera in my (very long) driveway. It works really well for that, giving me an alert and photo of who's driving in the driveway. But I also am getting lots of interesting photos of wildlife -- foxes, raccoons, wild turkeys, lots of deer. With the latest firmware, the thumbnails I get via the app on my phone are sometimes good enough to read license plate numbers, but I can always request the hi-def image if I need to (costs extra, but still pretty cheap for the rare occasions that I need them). Battery life is exceptional, using Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries. Camera holds 12 AA batteries. I highly recommend the Ultimate Lithium batteries for use in this camera. They are perfect for low-drain applications like this. They work far better at cold temperatures than alkaline batteries. I just replaced the initial set of batteries (still had 10-20% left) after 10 months and 2874 photos. ... show more

The instructions were simple the setup was easy I don't have Wi-Fi but I was able to make this work on my cell phone I've had pictures of Fisher bobcat wild dogs coyotes and half ton of deer. It worked well to about 0° Fahrenheit and then the pictures started transmitting messed up. I put it in my granary and got pictures of rats I currently have it on my driveway so I know when people are at my house. The batteries seem to last a long time I deployed this and mid December and as of January 20th the batteries are still at 90%. Even though it's been out in the cold all the time. Planning on buying a couple more of these because I'm totally fascinated with what goes on at my farm and what kind of critters are creeping around. ... show more

Bought this along with solar to place at my driveway entry. Works perfectly. Great pics at night. I did buy the year subscription at a fair rate. Not disappointed whatsoever. Great buy for security for sure. Plus, I get to see some interesting animals that come and visit at night too!

I ordered this for my husband bundled with the battery pack and SD card that goes with it. I didn’t want to because he’s not tech savvy and I knew I would have figure everything out. I finally called the company and they walked me through the set-up. They’re very friendly and helpful. When it’s not hunting season, you can use it for home security or just watching varmints that come in your yard.
