    • A must-have...
I'm using one of these solar panels with each of my four Reveal X Gen 2.0 cameras and they make all the difference. They keep my cameras at 100% battery life all the time. I had a camera out there for more than year last season (until the card filled up); no issues. NOTE: The solar panel IS a battery. It doesn't (re)charge the batteries in your camera. When your regular batteries drain to zero, the solar panel battery takes over. I appreciate the long cord that comes with the unit, but I find it to be more of a small hassle than a help, honestly, having to coil up all the extra and stow it somehow to keep dangling, blowing the wind, getting in the way, etc. I've never had to mount the solar panel so far away from the camera itself. This is constructive criticism more than a complaint. "Too long" is better than "too short". However, I do hate the panel mount. It seems like it would be easy to use, but it isn't. It's very fiddly and noisy to set up. It works fine once you get it in place, but when I can, I use a "HME Economy Trail Camera Holder" instead. WAY better (I just wish they were $6 instead of $12+). All-in-all... this is a 5 star must-have in my opinion. It pays for itself quickly, saving money on buying batteries and perhaps even better, saving you the time and effort of having to replace dead batteries. ... show more
