For the price, this is a great little unit for very small spaces such as a closet, small bedroom, small RV, small boat cabin, locker, etc. Don't expect it to bring humidity down fast or keep up with an environment that constantly reintroduces large amounts of moisture. It is a thermoelectric cooling device utilizing a peltier module and cannot compete with a larger, more expensive vapor-cycle refrigeration based dehumidifier. Keep your expectations in check. I purchased it for a small boat cabin to reduce humidity while in storage, and for that I think it's perfect. The collection cup can be easily modified to fit a small drain valve so it wouldn't have to be emptied in my specific application (I'll wait for the warranty to expire of course). The light can be cycled on or off, not sure why others complained about that. The noise level is that of a computer fan, which is exactly what is in it. For me, that means it's very quiet. To each their own. As to longevity, time will tell. I did a test run in the living room and in a small bathroom. In my house, water collection was slow, as anticipated, approximately 1/4 cup in 24 hours. In the bathroom after a shower, it collected about 1 cup of water overnight. Your mileage will vary depending on relative humidity. The one con I can think of is that it cannot be controlled. It's either constantly running or it's off. It will not turn back on in the case of a power outage, so you can't use it on an external humidistat.

This little machine is the perfect size for what I needed and it works really well. I converted one bay of my garage into a music room with a piano, drums, guitars, amplifiers, computer, stereo, etc... It's approximately 300 square feet. Even though I added an air conditioning vent into the room it still got too moist in humid South FL. This dehumidifier now keeps the correct amount of humidity and it runs quietly. I have to drain the water bin about every 4 days. It doesn't use much energy and the LCD lights are a very cool feature. The price is the icing on the cake. Highly recommended.

This unit is small and can easily be placed in a room without being obtrusive. The write up about the unit says it uses about 40 watts of electricity, so there will be a slight cost when in use. It does generate a tiny bit of heat. The fan has one speed and the closest comparison I can think of regarding the noise level would be the cooling fan on a laptop when it's running at close to full speed. It's not unpleasant and reminds me a bit of the white noise machines, so we have quickly gotten used to it. The lighting effects can easily be turned off, but they automatically turn on anytime you turn the unit back on, so two taps of the light button and they go back off. This small unit will not perform like a full size, floor model, dehumidifier. (some negative reviewers seem to think it should have performed in a comparable fashion) Those full size, floor units use an air conditioner type system so they dehumidify the air very quickly, but are very large and much, much louder and expensive. We had one in our full size home for years and you could literally see the humidity level begin to drop on a hygrometer within 30 minutes or so. This unit will not perform to that level due to it's small size and the mechanism used to remove moisture. We've had it over a week now and over a 24 hour period it removes about 3/4 of a cup of water from the air. Of course, the humidity level and temperature will dictate any increase or decrease in the numbers we saw. This unit is meant for small spaces of less than 250 sq feet. We have it in a bedroom with an adjoining bathroom. But since we leave the bedroom door open and have central air, that means it essentially is dealing with the whole apartment of about 900 sq feet. Don't expect to feel a marked difference in the humidity level in a large space. I would imagine in an appropriately small space, with doors closed and no central air, this unit would make the area feel dryer. Our issue is condensation build up on our single pane windows in the winter. Even just removing 3/4 cup of water per day means that there will be that much less water in the air to condense on the windows. We've now decided to purchase an additional unit to place in the second bedroom at the opposite end of the apartment from where the first one is placed. Our hope is between the two units we will see a marked difference in our humidity levels. Two of these units are much cheaper and quieter than a full size, floor model. I can recommend this unit if you purchase it with the understanding of it's limitations. UPDATE: We purchased an additional unit for our 900 square foot apartment. The two bedrooms are at the opposite ends of the apartment and we placed one of these dehumidifiers in each room. They both have been pulling about 3/4 of a cup of water out of the air every 24 hours, with inside temperature at 72 and initial relative humidity at about 64 percent. So with the two units we are eliminating about 1 !/2 cups per 24 hours. We might see a drop in the hygrometer reading to 59 or 60 percent occasionally in that time. Not comparable to a big floor dehumidifier, but much cheaper and quieter. While they have not eliminated the condensation issue, I think it has helped to reduce the overall amount of water condensing on our windows during the winter.

Nice little dehumidifier for small spaces. It is not too noisy and has the option of color changing night light or pick a color for light. You can also have no light. Auto shut off when full. Very easy to use.

After two days of use, it seems to work decently. I live in a humid environment, in an older house that’s not so well insulated. This unit pulls about as much water as my other dehumidifier of a similar size does. But it’s just a bit too loud for me. I wanted one for my bedroom, which I try to keep noise free and pitch black. So I love that the light can turn off, and that the power button isn’t obnoxiously bright and can easily be covered up. It’s too loud for me to sleep, though. Others might disagree. It’s about as loud as a small desk fan (which makes sense). But I’m moving this to my study and keeping my older one in the bedroom until I can find something quieter. Edit: knocked down to 3 stars because that flashing red light is annoying and doesn’t stop on its own. Where are all the understated dehumidifiers? You’re a piece of furniture bro, not a bluetooth party speaker.
