I was annoyed with this one at first. I had to take a pair of pliers and a blunt needle to enlarge the air holes, and it needs to be hooked up to my air pump from both sides. It seems like every couple weeks I need to take that same needle and poke at the holes a little to maintain bubbles from the whole bar, and make sure the angle is level or the bubbles will stop. But then I tried an 18" air stone to replace it, and that was even more a pain in the butt (yes, I soaked it a good 24 hours before attempting to operate, used a toothbrush and needle, still a pain) so I've stuck with this one. For the most part it creates a nice bubble wall. I rarely use the lights but they are a nice option I suppose. It has held up for over a month now. Overall it's a good product. The colors and settings really make the tank pop. I wish the suction power was more potent. It could be wider than perhaps would hold better. I originally gave it 4 stars but after some time in my tank observing it I had to reduce it to 3 stars because all the vents for the air stone bubble don't work. Most stopped working after the first week. The only reason I purchased it in the first place was because of all the vents, now it just looks silly with 3 on the right side working and the rest nothing. Very disappointed. ... show more

I bought this bubble bar for my freshwater aquarium and it works great for adding light along with oxygen. It comes with suction cups but I do notice that the bar occasionally likes to come undone and float upwards on one side.
