  • Great cabinet, period.
Size: 18U (24"w x24"d x35"h)
I've dealt with a few flat pack cabinets, and it's not my first rodeo with Sysracks. I'm pretty sure that they have upped their game in packaging; the box mine arrived in has padded corners and reinforced sides. All panels were padded in sheet foam to avoid contact with one another and the glass door was toward the middle of the stack, nice and safe. Everything arrived in one piece, no issues. I'm honestly a little mystified by reviews that complain about lack of instructions. It goes together in 20 minutes by mild application of some logic (cable entry brush plates go in the back) and some mild twisting of a cross tip screw driver. Bonus points if you check your progress with a carpenter's square, but it squares itself. Which part goes where is blindingly obvious from looking at the parts. If something looks like it might accept a bolt and a nut because you can see through it, that's where the bolt and nut go. I'm not a rocket surgeon but worked it out all on my own with zero fuss. Some hints and a few minor niggles not worth deducting a star over. Those little teardrop shaped rubber doodads that are rolling around in the shipping box and hiding in the crannies of the panels... you need those. They're responsible for making the side panels shut up. Once you pull them through their grommets, the side panels don't vibrate. The door... different story. There's a tiny bit of play between the lock bar and the frame member it engages with. The front door rattles. A little wad of electric tape or self stick felt solves it. I'm hanging mine, so I can't speak to whether or not the bolts for the casters are included. That leads me to my second niggle. Wall mounting an 18U cabinet and getting it level is never exactly fun, but it's a lot less un-fun when the manufacturer uses a French cleat type system rather than keyed holes. Sysracks chose to incorporate keyed holes, probably because of the amount of weight the cabinet is rated for. Sysracks would have gained cool points if they'd included a mounting template, but that's 5 minutes with the cardboard it came in, some painter's tape, and a sharpie. Mine's going onto a concrete wall in a narrow space, so unless I tapcon a ledger board on, it won't be a party at all to hang this beast solo, even with doors and panels stripped. Luckily, it does come with feet and casters, along with a generous accessory pack, so it can sit on the floor if I get tired of wrangling with the wall mount. Overall, this is a great cabinet with useful design features and a solid accessory pack. VERY pleased. ... show more

  • Hidden shipping damage
Size: 18U (24"w x24"d x35"h)
The unit is generally well engineered but has also comes with some surprising shortcomings. The unit arrived without any noticeable damage to the packaging. Some of the items are not well enough secured from moving inside the shipping box. The side panels are placed inside the two frames with the plastic locks engaged but not otherwise secured. Given the weight of the panels, movement during shipping caused them to slide and shear one of four locks. Many of the rubber door and panel cushions either came off or got sheared off. Simply securing them with tape or otherwise protecting them would help avoid such issues. Inexplicitly, the bracket of the assembled door lock is bent. In other words, it was assembled with the inside bracket bent. Installation did not present too much of a challenge. But the instruction booklet and the online video are not zooming in enough to view necessary detail. As far as the design goes, again there are some surprising misses. - All but the smaller units appear to ship with feet and casters. The casters are only useful if the feet are not installed as they cannot turn 360 degrees with the feet installed. - The stoppers of the casters cannot be locked after they are installed. The feet can only be adjusted for leveling from the outside with access to all four sides to the unit. It would be fantastic if the feet could be used for leveling from the inside after the unit is rolled into place. That would require the bolts holding the foot base to have a slot on top and the locking nut be placed inside with enough space to tighten it. - The cable entry slots don't feature cable chafing protection. There is what appears to be a cable tie-down bar positioned at the rear inside of the cable entry slot. It is positioned too far from the slot entry to be used for that purpose. This product still represents good value. It is unfortunate packaging is not designed with the heavy loads in mind. Overall QA/QC is weak and should be easily addressed by the seller. Hopefully, productive feedback will affect design improvements that would make this an outstanding product. ... show more

  • Inexpensive and easy to assemble
Size: 18U (24"w x24"d x35"h)
I needed a fast solution for a client that was, "running before they could walk." This unit showed up in a box that was extra secure. I had no need to worry about bent or broken pieces, which was a plus. I assembled the unit in thirty minutes and began racking within an hour. The unit's sheet metal is flimsy in pieces but once built it feels solid. The only issue I have is with how flimsy the door feels. To be clear, this unit is easily broken into. Ensure you are placing this device behind a secure door. If your client requires higher-end security then look elsewhere. ... show more

  • it’s perfect for my application.
Size: 27U (24"w x24"d x51"h)
it has a lot of parts to assemble, but it was very easy. Love the structure in the glass front door. Wire management was very simple.

  • Good value for money, but you get what you pay for
Size: 18U (24"w x24"d x35"h)
I found it easy to install, one of the cheaper racks for it's size, and pretty good look in the basement. The sturdiness is a bit off. Not everything lines up perfectly. The fan at the top is noisy, so I just keep it off. There isn't much instruction on lining up the inside pieces where you hook units to. The window had a pretty bad smudge I had to remove. I'd say overall worth the price, and worth buying. Just be-ware of these issues. ... show more
