I make videos and don't like using selfie-sticks. As a photographer, I have several tripods and this is perfect for easy setup. Screw into the 1/4 inch bolt, insert camera in the mount, and rotate for landscape or back to vertical portrait orientation easily. Or even some odd angle if you want. I like the idea of this product to facilitate using a phone as a monitor for a camera. The cold shoe fitting works great, but the spring in the actual phone mount is pretty stiff. You have to pull pretty hard to get a larger phone in which is a bit cumbersome. I think a mechanism with a thumb screw or a clamp of some kind would have been better. ... show more

Perfect. Exactly what I needed. I'm using this to mount my phone running LightMeter and other applications to my Nikon F2. The combination of phone & apps provides a great second opinion for metering (& calculations/tables/etc.) for my 52 year old F2's DP-1. Having the phone mounted and perfectly viewable/adjustable and easily removed/added is a huge plus. Also, this has 2 cold shoe mounts I might eventually use (maybe I'll use a flash someday!) and really adds to the possibilities. Grips the phone great (huge problem with other mounts as I prefer a large screen/phone). Great build for the $! This is only a couple dollars more than a simple shoe mount ball joint! My black F2 with this and my phone mounted on it has an awesomely cool retro modern vibe; I love how it looks and it's super functional. Get one. ... show more

This phone grip works well in my tripod and holds my phone much better than the one it came with. It’s compact and easy to carry. It’s also quite sturdy. I do wish it had a different function to open, but that’s just a personal preference. .

I purchased this for the tripod mount and ability to rotate the phone while mounted. Don’t really need then cold shoe mount, but having options is nice. Seems to be well built and a good value.
