I bought this phone holder since I'm kind of lazy and didn't want to hold my phone all the time when laying in bed. I thought this would be long enough, but it's kind of short for my bed so I attached it to my nightstand instead. The clamp is great and definitely feels secure. However, the neck is very stiff and takes quite a bit of force to bend into the desired shape. The slightest touch also makes it shake a lot to the point where I have to hold my phone steady just to be able to use it then go hands free once my selection is done. This thing is awesome. I like to play my Nintendo Ds & Switch in bed and after a while, holding my consoles or even phone in bed makes my carpal tunnel flare up. This week I was particularly feeling stressed and sick and just wanted to curl up in bed with my heating pad, my favorite plushies, kitties, play some games, and relax. Perfect time to get a phone mount of some sort so at the very least i can watch youtube on my phone while I play. I skimmed thru all the products and just chose this one on a whim because it was available for free same day delivery w/ Prime. Usually I mull over reviews but the window to order was getting low so i just bought it. I was a little worried because I had gotten something a bit similar from a local market but it was not sturdy and fell apart after a month. BUT THIS ONE. IS. AMAZING. It exceeded my expectations as soon ad i took it out of the box and tried to move the shape of the neck. This thing is STUUUURDY. took actual arm strength to bend it, but just know for something like thus, that is good! it holds shape and stays very much so in place. The thing that really got me excited was that it is big enough to hold my switch screen (it holds my ds but i haven’t really tried to play it while using this thing, i don't think it would do much good because id still be using my hands in a weird position). Hours of comfy gaming on a sick day, here I come! The clamp mechanism on the bottom is nice and strong. The one on the top is good too and even has silicone on the inside to prevent your device from sliding. its super worth it. Pros: hold is strong, it seems sturdy and the clamp is tight once you get it in place. Cons: the hold is so strong that it kept pushing buttons on my phone when holding it sideways. 2 times in a row my phone made emergency calls while in the holder. I’m not taking any more chances and unfortunately have to return this. Other cons are that it’s pretty big and bulky. Not an easy thing to have around unless you don’t care about a giant piece of plastic sitting around. This would be great as a more utilitarian tool for places like garages, workshops, etc. For your bed or kitchen it’s quite an eye sore. The clamp needs to be twisted and unscrewed to adjust. That’s good and bad. It has a strong hold but more cumbersome to adjust unless you don’t plan on moving it once it’s in place. This phone holder is good depending on the use. But you need to be extra cautious of where you clamp it so it doesn’t press your buttons! ... show more

This holder was industrial. The clamp is amazing and the arm IS SO STRONG! It'll go any wY you ant it and you can move it around your house easily. The arm is so strong there is no fear of it breaking! I thought it was too much when I got it, but it's a heavyweight and I love it!

I got this to attach to my headboard to read or use my phone in bed without aggravating my hands, but it doesn't work well. First of all, the base clamp world work a lot better if it were running straight down the arm rather than being perpendicular. It has a cuff around the bottom, so it ends up wasting about five inches of the arm length trying to angle it back up to arc over my head, and protrudes from the headboard so I can't leave it there permanently or I would bonk my head on it. There is a rubbery layer in between the clamp pieces, but it doesn't extend to protect around the edges, so I still ended up scratching the wood when I was testing out placement. The phone end of the clamp works pretty well at least, easy to place the phone or release, and it doesn't slip. That being said, imagine holding out a yardstick out from your arm, and how the end wavers extra when your arm gets tired, and that's how the solid piece of the arm behaves. It adjusts ok and stays in place, but if you wiggle the surface it's clamped to, or try to perform actions on the phone, it rather constantly bounces a little, amplified from the clamped end by distance. It does seem sturdy and well made overall, so if it were attached to a very stable object and you were just reading or watching something without touching the phone it would be fine. I think one with interlocking pieces for the arm would be more stable than this one solid piece style. ... show more
