Overall, I'd say this is a great product that is cheaper than the competition I have seen. While I can't compare its performance to others, as I'm no bike phone mount collector, I can say this one does its job well, holding the phone securely while you ride. The product comes in a small box disassembled, but assembly is straightforward with instructions on the side and in the box. Get the clamp, put the silicone holder of your choice behind it, attach to base, and screw the two halves of the base together around your handlebar. Place your phone in the clamp and the silicone band around the corners, and you're ready to ride. I can't speak to the durability of the product since I've only taken it for a few rides, but my main concern would be the silicone band. However, since the product comes with three, I consider this more or less a non-issue. When riding, my phone stays in place. I have not been mountain bike riding with it or anything, but while riding around on the road or sidewalk in the city, dropping off curbs, and even walking the bike down stairs, my phone has stayed in the mount. My only issue with it is during those rougher terrain activities, the clamp or the base may shift. The clamp is on a ball joint, so this movement is a design feature, but it turns out to be somewhat of a double-edged sword. Shifting it back is simple, and the base movement around the handlebar may be due to my own hesitancy to tighten it too much. The ball joint is certainly not user error, though, and while not a big issue and is easily corrected once you get to smoother terrain, it is why I've given a 4/5 in stability. (Consider it a 4.5 or so, though.) One personal issue I've had is with my phone and the mount. I have the Google Pixel 2, a phone that has volume and a power button on the sides along with a squeeze-to-activate Google Assistant. As the clamp of the mount squeezes the phone securely, sometimes my volume or Google Assistant buttons can be activated. The Google Assistant is easily deactivated, but it can be slightly bothersome as you put the phone in the mount and different buttons are pressed. This is likely a tiny issue with the Pixel brand and this mount, but it only occurs as the phone is placed in the clamp or when it is slid within the clamp (which, thanks to the grips, can only happen with human intervention). I have also contacted with the company in response to a voucher which came in my product box, and I found it to be a pleasant interaction with quick responses. Overall, the bike mount is a great product that seems flexible enough to work with most or all phones and does its job well. Though I am not without my concerns and the bike mount does have some minor issues, the price, flexibility, and overall performance make it well worth the purchase, in my opinion. ... show more

    • Consider where you want to mount your phone!
The Good: Product is well built, I fully trust it to securely hold my phone on the road (I would not mount my phone if truly mountain biking). My 3-1/16" wide phone was plenty secured just with the base unit but having the straps is a nice back up incase it gets jarred lose. Nice to be able to rotate and tilt the phone when mounted. The Not So Good: This is really designed around the old 25.4 clamping standard bars rather than the newer 31.8 (referring to where the bar clamps into the stem). If you remove the rubber pads, it will clamp to the bare 31.8 bar or, if you are ok with moving it out from the stem a few inches, the bar narrows and you can clamp it there (mostly referring to mountain bikes). It is also not designed to mount on top of bar tape, especially if you have cables running under it. It would not mount on the tops of my main road bike, though part of that is due to the bar having a flat profile on top. It also would not mount on the tops of my CX, nor my fixed gear. I could possibly cut back the bar tape away from the stem, remove the rubber pads, and mount it so that it was under the cable. I can mount it on my older road bike with the old 25.4 handlebar, next to the stem where there is no bar tape and it works well. I actually mounted it to the end of the drop on top of the bar tape with no rubber pads on my main road bike but it was not convenient there as I could not get into the drops. The product would be improved if they increased the diameter of the mount. I tried all of the above with the holder set in the greatest diameter position. I'm not sure why anyone would need the smallest setting, maybe for a really old kid's bike (?) If they increased the diameter and maintained the three positions, it could work for the old and newer standards as well as with bar tape. I will probably look into a stem mounted holder. ... show more

    • Emergency! Emergency!
I bought this product to hold my phone on my new ebike. It mostly did what it was supposed to so it gets 2 stars. Unfortunately, there are some pretty major design flaws. Talking to the police on a ride into work is not on my list of fun things to do. But because of the way the rubber straps hold Samsung phones, they managed to hit the Emergency call button every time I went over a bump. After several times, the 911 dispatcher called me, since I apparently didn't get to the cancel button fast enough due to the other side of the holder turning on my camera at an inopportune time. While the 911 dispatcher seemed very understanding, I promptly removed my phone from the holder and removed the holder from my bike as soon as I got home. The return process went smoothly. A couple other design flaws are that the ball joint connecting the holder to the handlebar piece doesn't tighten enough so the phone wobbled significantly, and the straps are really awkward trying to get the phone attached to the holder. I'll be looking for a different style since this one was a solid miss for me. ... show more
