  • Great Product
Purchased the Switchbot blinds with hub mini. Here is my review. First after reading through other reviews I unpackaged the units and immediately charged the units for about 6 hours (much easier to charge prior to installation). Then I installed the unit, very easy to install. I didn't time my first installation but the second install to less than 5 minutes. The calibration takes less than a minute. The feature set is great. I originally just set a time to close on the first day and open them through the app in the morning, worked perfect. The second day I create an automation to open at sunrise and close at sunset - PERFECT. The feature set includes Time, Automate, close up, close down, light sensing, status of blinds (open or closed with percentage) as well as other features. The solar panel is a very nice touch and the app displays the battery status. One thing I would have like is a longer cable for the solar panel, I have a 3 to 4 foot overhang directly above the windows. I originally installed at the top of the window but didn't get enough light so I moved it down as far as I could, works better but I will just buy an extension cable to fix that issue. This is a great product. I was originally designing my own using an ESP8266 and a stepper motor. I would have spent more with less features so I bought this. THIS PRODUCT GREAT. Additional review of Switchbot motion sensor: Setup was simple since I already have a Switchbot hub mini. The sensor works well and has settings for short, medium, long distance and a light sensing feature which I am not using since my blinds are already dusk to dawn. The feature set is a little lacking. There are no unique tones so you have to use notifications from the existing ones on your phone. You can disable the sensor from the app but it’s buried a couple menus down and you have to turn it back on after it’s disabled, what I would have like to seen is a snooze button on the main menu where you could choose the interval ( 1, 2 ,3 hours. ... show more

  • A liitle skeptical at first
I was a little skeptical about how well these would work. I set them up to control my living room blinds and they are working great. They are very easy to install and with the solar panels I never have to charge the battery. The app is easy to use and I can use my Amazon devices to easily close or open my blinds. ... show more

  • Easy set up and reliable. Motor can be kinda noisy Easy set up and reliable. Motor can be kinda noisy
Overall, I’m a big fan of this product and highly recommend to install in pre-existing manual blinds. I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of set up both with the app functionality and integration with Amazon Alexa. I ended up buying two packs and installed them in my downstairs area. It’s nice to wake up and have the blinds already opened in the morning and then automatically close at dawn. There is a setting that can adjust to reduce the motor noise however, the blinds will just lose at a slower rate. Most of the time I don’t notice them, but if you’re sitting next to it, it will be noticeable when the blinds closed. I also noticed that it wobbles the blind closer and sometimes can leave it in a wonky position but honestly not that big of a deal overall. I like that it has been reliable the past couple weeks of having it. There’s been no issues with the motor or the mechanism and it is reliably opening and closing at the schedule times. ... show more

  • Great product
I’ve had a really positive experience with SwitchBot products and their customer service. The products themselves are innovative, reliable, and easy to integrate into my smart home setup. Everything feels thoughtfully designed and actually solves real problems instead of being “tech for the sake of tech.” What really stood out to me was how they handled an issue I had recently. Their support team was responsive, professional, and genuinely cared about making things right. They followed through quickly and took care of the problem without giving me the runaround, which is rare these days. It’s refreshing to find a company that backs up great products with equally great customer service. I’ll absolutely continue buying SwitchBot products and recommending them to others looking to build out a smart home. ... show more

  • It really works.
This actually does what it’s supposed to. I was hesitant because I was u sure if this was really what I thought it was and would actually work. I didn’t think a product existed to do what I wanted like this in an affordable option. I thought the only way I would get an actual motorized, automatic blind system without buying expensive blind system from a window company. Well, this does that. Installation was easier than it initially seemed and once you do one and know what to do, additional ones are super easy and quick. Features and options are solid. You can set timers, programs, and adjust directions. For my purposes, I set it and let it go from there, but you can also use the app to operate it. It isn’t totally silent, but I don’t find it particularly obtrusive in sound or volume and it does take up some space, so it’s not unnoticeable, but it blends well enough. Great product to turn any existing blind into an automatic system without having to get expensive new blinds. ... show more

  • Good value, but you get what you pay for.
update: after being reached out to by the company and asking what they could do to help, they promised to send an newer better hub, but didn't, then they said they were going to give me a full refund, but quickly back tracked on that offer, then when they kept asking for my personal information, which is against Amazon policy they accused me of not wanting to help them solve the problems. Here what I found with my extensive testing. You will need a hub for every room, the hub needs to be in direct line of sight to work effectively. The stated specifications of the hub are all wrong. I couldn't figure out why I found very few reviews about this obvious limitation, but then realized they reach out to all people who give them bad reviews and basically bribed them. So if you are going to only have one or two devices, then this will work, or just buy a hub for every room in your house. Original: The device works really well when it receives a signal. It's fairly quiet, or at least much quieter than what I expected. Really easy to install after the first one, the instructions are a little bit confusing at times. With the new firmware update, blinds can be grouped which is fantastic, because they don't receive the signal from the hub very well, which would cause all sorts of issues, if planning on using any of the 3rd party systems like Alexa or Google. More than 50 percent of the time the device will fail to communicate with the hub properly when the hub is not directly in the line of sight of the device. I purchased quite a few of these based on reviews and product description. One stark example of how unreliable the hub is, I have a group in the living room and one in my kitchen which is separated by one wall. The hub is directly against the wall in the living room, so it works fine with the living room group of 3 devices, but in the kitchen, is hit or miss. The hub states 80 meters in range, but this is far from the truth. If this were true I would only need one hub for my entire house, or at the most, one hub on each floor. No, this is not the case you need one hub for every room the devices are in to have reliable communications. So, keep that in mind, you will have to add 40 dollars for each room, plus a way to plug in each hub. If you're just going to add one or two devices these are probably okay, but if you plan on doing your whole house, or living areas, maybe go with a more reliable product. Be prepared to by a hub for each room that the blinds are in. ... show more
