I usually like to travel really light and make do with a carry on size, or even smaller, using my Samsonite under seater for even a week of travel. This time though, I needed to pack for a two week trip through Italy, dressing for city, country and resort needs. I originally wanted to get a Travelpro MaxLite. Since I didn't think I'd get much use out of a 25 inch bag in the future, I opted for a used Swissgear Sion instead for under $100 instead of closer to $200 for the Travelpro. My main concern was that the spinner wheels might break on the kind of ground I'd be covering. The bag would travel over rough ground and cobblestone streets getting to train stations. I'd have been upset to break a new, more expensive bag. Two wheelers are sometimes recommended for tvis terrain but tilting this up at times worked The Swissgear was great! The wheels took A LOT of punishment and held up. The bag is very nicely made and roomy. No zipper trouble. The difference for me was that the Travelpro was a few pounds lighter and I wanted all the help I could get with a light bag for handling on trains etc. But all in all, I was very happy with this bag. I ended up overpacking, and still not being happy with my outfits, haha! FYI, if you're going to Italy in the summer of 2023, women are wearing lots of flowy, feminine sundresses and wide-legged linen pants. And linen shops are everywhere. I got two of these, one in teal/green and the other black. Both of them worked wonders as its easy to change how the luggage wheels around even when you are running full speed across an airport trying not to miss a flight. I also had no issues with both bags making it through TSA or whatever its called, I mean, the TSA airports have a limit of the weight of any item in order for it to be a checked bag, so as long as your under the weight you are good. Bag only been through one short plane trip BURBANK to PHOENIX. Will update if I fly again. WHY I BOUGHT? Needed something this size asap so I can pack quickly and CHECK-IN. As in too busy and lazy to use smaller carry-on. Had back-to-back trips and I didn’t have something 25” traditional rectangle. And I didn’t want my favorite duffle bags to get possibly damaged for a 1-hour plane ride. I like that it’s soft-sided and it’s my first suitcase with spinner wheels. I’m 5 ft tall and it wasn’t too uncomfortable using all 4 wheels or dragging on two wheels (more awkward because of weight of luggage). Handle is so-so. The quality is okay, but felt it could be priced under $100. I didn’t have time to price shop luggage. Three handles are riveted instead of sewn securely. Would not count on them to hold up. I would buy again because the big box store’s version was more expensive and the wheels were not as nice. Went with brand name Swiss Gear given price, delivery. Nice suitcase. Holds a weeks worth of clothes and small sized toiletries. I like the front zippered compartments. However, the handle was wiggly and I worried it would break. This was the first time I used a suitcase with the 4 roller wheels. The wheels kept sticking when I had to roll it on the back two wheels so sometimes I was kind of dragging it along. It's as good, if not better than our travel-pro spinner than costs almost twice as much. After 3 years (2 airline trips with multiple legs every month) we did end up replacing the husbands because the wheels were not rolling well, and the handle wasn’t super functional. Mixed experience with the bag and the company SwissGear. In less than one year, the handle on the extension for pulling the bag broke. All was well until then. Had some difficulty clarifying the responsibility of SwissGear and their 10 year warrantee. However, after bothering them by email, they finally came through. However, instead of replacing my carry-on, they sent me a very nice full sized suitcase. The initial carry-on was quite inexpensive. The company is known for high quality.
