This toilet has been a 10/10. We installed this because the bathroom was going on a slab as a retrofit, and the flume for sewage had to go between rafters over the slab. I think this is a reasonable option on a small budget. I am very thankful I have the back of this unit in an open wall to a storage area, because I am having a problem with leaking out of the water downspout where it meets the tank. My guess a poorly seated gasket or O'ring whatever they used in joining the connection. but doesn't seem easily removeable now in the installed postion. I nudge the tube connection and seem to stop for now? So, I will caulk with silicone and put a leak detection device under the unit. This came after having to replace the O'ring on the upper tank connection to the fill. The O'ring was small or defective and water would bypass it and leak. The unit has been operational for less than 24hrs. I think if I had an application that required this to be sealed into the wall on both sides I would be concerned or worried about leaking in the wall. ... show more

This carrier is good quality and works with the TOTO EP WALL-HUNG DUAL-FLUSH TOILET (SKU: CWT428CMFG#MS) which has the best flushing action of all the wall-hungs out there. If you are going t mount this on a tile wall....it is highly recommended you use the Geberit 156.050.00.1 Acoustic Insulation Bowl Connection. This kit comes with a beefy foam sheet and plastic bolts connectors which are great. Just secure the carrier with lag screws in double studded framing. When you cover the carrier with board it is best practice to apply silicone to all the framing of the carrier that will make contact with the board. This will allow stiffen the connection between the board and carrier and allow for not play. Good luck and Godspeed! ... show more

Had to order this in wall toilet twice. First time the box was completely broken. Returned the box without opening it as i was unsure of the product condition and any missing items. i did not want to risk installing a defective product. The 2nd shipment looked intact but when my plumber opened the box to install, he noticed and immediately pointed out that the flush system was all apart and the tank was not pre-installed in the steel frame. According to him that is not how new tanks are shipped from swiss Madison. I agreed with him as the instructions that came with the product had no mention of how to put together all the loose parts of the flush system. I tried to contact customer support but they were only available by email. It would have cost me a lot more money to reschedule the plumber. He claims he installed the parts based on his past experience. Hopefully it will work. Never had any issues with 3 Totos in my home. I am hoping Swiss Madison will read this review and respond. ... show more

    • Inaccurate instructions, waste pipe is not ABS

I had two problems with this install. First, the waste pipe, though it's black, is not actually ABS...ABS cement won't bond and it wouldn't fit in a 3" coupling! Fernco coupler fixed it, though! Second issue - the instructions for both the toilet and the tank specify to add 15/16" to the cut off measurement for the inlet pipe (connecting tank pipe to toilet). This is way too much! I am having to order a replacement pipe as that amount leaves the pipe to barely sit in the joint. Recommend adding only 1/2" to the cut-off length (on the small, inlet pipe; 15/16" on the outlet pipe is fine). ... show more

The bolting of the frame into the base was unbelievably hard. The instruction were incomplete. That process alone took 2 hours because you screw through the tank frame in to the base and you can't pull the two items together. We ended up having to get my skinny arm into to put a double nut on the bolt end and then pull it to the wall by unscrewing the joining bolt. Well this unit was installed for a family member & they chose to cut cost a little by using least expensive brand & at first I was skeptical but 1st time setting a wall cistern unit so figured it’s their problem later on & my problem installing but actually was really easy & saved YUGE amount of money BC didn’t need to cut concrete in this application to make a 1st level pool bathroom available to all. Instructions are fair at best but always remember U have you-tube available? Some great hints & info there, will purchase this again & bowl as well as wall Unit was quality & substantially sound. ... show more
