  • Worked for me on the hard to find and expensive toilet seats!
I had bought 2 obsolete toilet seats about ten years ago and used one and put the other up for future use. I ended up needing it this year and the plastic hinges were cracked and brittle and after a month one side of the hinges crumbled apart! I tried to find another new seat and they are discontinued but the company had two in stock for over $200.00 a piece!! My seat was basically new as I had been storing it until this year! The downside was that I had to locate a spray paint that matched the color of my seat for these hinges! I did find one that matched the seat perfectly and I had to paint these hinges! They are working great and after all is said and done, I saved myself about $170 plus dollars!! The hinges fit great and are working perfectly! ... show more

  • Worked perfectly for my Dometic Vacuflush toilet
This is an exact fit for many marine toilets, including my Dometic Vacuflush toilet. I'm sure it fits many others as well, just check your measurements before ordering. Well made, easy to install, back up and running in minutes. Great price too!

  • Worked well on my Bemis toilet seat
Apparently, Bemis does not sell replacement hinges specifically for its toilets. I did not want to buy a whole new seat because of a broken hinge. The quality of the materials for this item seemed quite good and it worked almost perfectly. The hinge screwed into the existing holes in the seat and lid perfectly and installation was mostly easy. Note that the instructions are worthless, play around with the parts a bit before you start putting in any screws! The one very minor drawback, which may be specific to my toilet model, is that the seat alignment was not perfect. Using the existing holes, the front of the lid now extends a tiny bit beyond the front of the seat. This is barely noticeable and could be easily fixed by drilling new holes in the lid. I decided that it was not worth the extra effort. ... show more

  • Cheap AND expensive - also, one size does NOT fit all
As most people have said, these are surprisingly difficult to find. Lowes didn't have replacement hinges and a new seat with hinge was twice what this cost. So, trying to save money, we bought this. Mistake. There are two issues with these hinges: 1) These are unbelievably cheaply made. They probably cost $0.10 to make, and $3 would have been too much to pay. The plastic that they're made of feels like it would break easily, but I'll never find out. 2) They don't fit properly. These hinges were clearly designed for a very thick toilet seat, like the cushioned ones. However we have a standard wooden seat. It works, but it looks awful and makes things awkward. The back of the lid sits about an inch higher than the front and tilts so much that the feet on the underside of the lid no longer touch the seat when closed. Besides looking bad, it means that there is no longer a gap at the front between the lid and the seat to put your finger into to lift the lid. Also, I usually sit on the lid while my son is in the bathtub, but now it's uncomfortable because it's tilting. It also puts a lot of stress on the hinge, which bends as I sit on it. After all of this we ended up just buying a new seat. Of course as soon as we did that, we discovered a better-looking hinge replacement for about 1/3 this one's price at Home Depot. I feel like I just flushed this money down the toilet. ... show more

  • This is why I shop at Amazon
The hinges on my toilet seat broke. I thought the logical thing to do was to go to Home Depot and buy the parts. I was told at Home Depot that they didn't carry any thing like that and I should buy a whole new toilet seat. Why would I want to buy a whole new toilet just because the hinges were broke ? I then went to a Plumbing Supply store thinking for sure they would have it. They said no, buy a new seat. I immediatley went home and found what I needed on Amazon Problem Solved. Great product the same as the hinges that came with the toilet. Simple and easy to install. ... show more

  • These Hinges are Really White
I just needed bolt covers/caps for my toilet seat hinges, so ordered these and didn't install them. The covers did fit onto the original Bemis toilet seat hinges quite well. In fact, these hinges look exactly like the original Bemis hinges, maybe made from the same molds? I figured I could use the screws to replace the badly corroded ones in my existing hinges, but didn't end-up doing this: a) the enclosed screws aren't stainless steel (maybe they are; they stuck to a magnet when I tested them, though) which I really wanted for rust resistance, b) they have a different thread pitch than the originals (which I think are 5/8" #6 sheet metal screws) and I was afraid of stripping out the wood by installing them. Also, these hinges aren't "glazed porcelain" white, they're "brand-new cotton towel" white. Really white. Be forewarned, they're really bright. ... show more
