  • I'm very happy with this knife I'm very happy with this knife
Size: 4.5"
Pros: 1) 1.4116 SS (X50CrMoV15) is a good steel and used commonly for knife making. It has decent mechanical properties, including good toughness and decent edge-retention. 2) The best property of this steel is likely its corrosion resistance. With 14-15% Cr and addition of Mo, it allows for pretty good corrosion resistance. Not the best, but as martensitic steels go, this is pretty good. 3) The knife arrived sharpened and well packaged 4) It is a beautiful well made knife. You can see the phases of the metal. \ 5) Pretty easy to sharpen (though this does have a con) Cons: 1) The edge retention is not one of the best but allows for Pro #5 so it goes hand in hand. This is not a big con for me. I'd rather have toughness and corrosion resistance. 2) I would like the handle to be a bit more comfortable and more aesthetic. Also not a big con but I can imagine this with a darker stain or darker wood - it would look fantastic. Overall 4.6/5.0: Well made knife. Has been cutting really well - carrots, ice, peeling etc. I am very happy with this product. ... show more

  • Super sharp, high-quality look and feel, comfortable to use.
Size: 4.5"
This knife is one of the sharpest knives right out of the box that I have ever had. When I ordered this knife, I assumed the Rockwell 55 +2 hardness rating was a higher-than-normal hardness rating, but after researching Rockwell hardness, I learned 55 is considered one of the softer ratings for knives. Knives with a higher Rockwell hardness will hold their sharp edge longer but are more difficult to sharpen. I was impressed with the layered steel appearance of the blade, similar to that I have seen on other more expensive knives, but not sure if that makes this a better knife. I have been very pleased with the feel and balance of this knife and found it razor sharp after several uses, so I am happy with it. I have knife sharpener, so I can easily sharpen it when the time comes. Overall, the appearance, feel and performance has been great. ... show more

  • Very sharp blade with nice balance handle Very sharp blade with nice balance handle
Size: 4.5"
I ordered the Swiss Diamond 4.5 Inch Paring Knife. I really liked the Damascus steel look, style and feel of this knife. Just to be clear, this is not made from Damascus steel just has etching on the blade to give it that look. With that said this is still a very nice knife made from German stainless steel. The blade is razor sharp and the ergonomic handle provides a comfortable grip. I like the full tang blade, which will be less likely to break. This knife is very easy to handle. It is perfect for peeling and precision cutting fruits and vegetables. I was able to take a cucumber and cut see through slices. After using this knife for a bit now, and it has remained sharp. I will update this review if the knife doesn’t sharpen well or maintain its current quality. This is an excellent addition to my culinary knife set. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Very Sharp, Comfortable to Hold. Great Knife.
Size: 4.5"
I have been using this knife nearly every day since I got it. It cuts beautifully. When I first got it, I was cutting some bell peppers and thought there was something wrong with them because this knife just went through the peppers like butter. It only took a minute to realize that there was nothing wrong with the peppers, but all of my other knives were either dull or bad to begin with. It's been about a month that I have been using this knife, and it is still as sharp as it was the day I got it. It has become my favorite knife and the only knife I use on a regular basis. ... show more

  • Nifty Knife! Nifty Knife!
Size: 4.5"
The Swiss Diamond 4.5 Inch Paring Knife is a delight to own. It is lightweight yet made from multiple layers of steel, forming a Damascus blade that is an amalgam of revealed levels. The blade fits comfortably in the hand, either right or left. It is very sharp and cuts vegetables and cheeses with ease. Slicing through fruit skins is also a breeze. The size of the knife makes it easy to maneuver when precision cutting is necessary for fancy desserts or other dishes. I give the Swiss Diamond 4.5 Inch Paring Knife a five-star review. I highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys the pleasure of preparing fresh ingredients for their foods. It makes a wonderful addition to every kitchen. ... show more

  • Sharp but fake damascus
Size: 4.5"
Damascus steel knives are some of the sharpest knives I own. It usually shows a unique pattern due to the folding an welding process. Fake Damascus knives have a stamped pattern to look like a Damascus knife. A couple of things about this knife's description bother me. One is that it has Damascus in the title but nowhere in the description does it say anything to lead you to believe it is not authentic. The description mentions "for someone who values a nice Japanese chef knife" . Further down you see the blade type is shown as Damascus stamped and that it is made of stainless steel. It also shows as made in China. All of this is misleading to the consumer. That aside it is a decent paring knife and comes very sharp but most new knives are sharp. Worked well for slicing small diameter veggies and meats, as well as citrus fruits in a bar setting. I can't give more than three stars due to the misleading description. ... show more

  • Say hello to my little friend
Size: 4.5"
This is such a quality knife. If the razor sharp point can be kept, I will never need another paring knife. And for the price, this is truly a good grab here. If you cook often you know how important your tools are. Most home chefs can realistically get by with a good chef's knife and a good paring knife. This is the paring knife I wish I had found 20 years ago. Great weight to the handle, beautiful inlay in the steel and razor sharp, like the sharpest knife I have ever used razor sharp, cutting edge. So happy I found this little guy and took a chance on it and I think you will be pleased as well. ... show more

  • Decent knife but not Damascus
Size: 4.5"
The knife is good, but the blade has been made to look like Damascus. It is not Damascus.
