My dog is 5 years old and this has been his favorite toy since we brought him home as a pup. It was bigger than he was. He is on his 6th one as they eventually wear out. All you have to do is say monkey and off he runs to get it. He is very gentle with it and even sleeps with it. This is a fantastic toy. And this review is approve buy our schnauzer.

Mr. Monkey is 2 months old and my 2 year old Bichon, Jovi loves him. However, it took about two days for him to get the nose off. I would prefer it to be just an area of dark thick thread and not any kind of bead for my dog or any dog to swallow. The arms, legs, ears and everywhere it’s sewn together is coming apart. I am surprised that a $12 dog toy isn’t stitched better knowing how rough dogs are on them, but everything is made cheaper and cheaper now. This is especially true for ANY products made in china. Anything produced out of that horrible third world place has very low quality. I guess if the government had absolute control over my life and if my skin color, religion, or sexual orientation didn’t fit their narrative and millions were in concentration camps or murdered by the thousands because of these things, then why would I care either? I try harder and harder to avoid supporting anything made in that hellhole, but sometimes it’s not possible. I don’t know if this monkey was made there. Anyway, I can ask Jovi, “Where’s your monkey?” and he will run and get him and bring him. When I’m going into my office I tell him to get his monkey and he goes and gets him and jumps up in the Queen Anne chair beside my desk where he can see me and out the big picture window. After he burrows under the pillows and his doggie towel and sometimes a blanket, he pulls Mr. Monkey close and goes to sleep. If our blue heeler, Osiris, tries to pull Mr. Monkey away, Jovi wakes immediately and is very protective! Of course, Jovi has become pretty good at hiding his friend, because when Osiris hears my husband or I tell Jovi to go get his monkey, Osiris takes off to try and find it. If Osiris gets Mr. Monkey, he will plop down on top of him so Jovi can’t get him. He might see Mr. Monkeys arm or leg sticking out from under Osiris’ almost 50 lb body and then Jovi will take his 15 lb. self and start aggressively jumping and dancing and whining and you can just picture his 2 year old self fighting with his 4 year old “brother” over the same toy! Ultimately, he sits and whines “mom! mom! mom! Osiris has MY moooonnnkkkeeeyyy!!!” I don’t get involved because as soon as I make Osiris give him his friend, he no longer nwants it! After a while, he will find an appendage sticking out and lay beside Osiris and lick Mr. Monkey’s hand/foot as if you comfort him. I am not looking forward to having to throw Mr. Monket away. I miss the days when things lasted and had quality.

His first monkey my son pulled to hard and the arm fell off. So we purchased this one on Amazon as the grey one was bought on clearance. I was worried he wouldn't accept it. Before I could even remove the tags he was trying to get to the monkey. He loves his monkey.
