  • The most adorable little bird!
Style: Male Sandpiper
When I opened the package I couldn't believe how soft and adorable this little Sandpiper cat toy is. It is well made with attention to detail, and it should last a long time. I love it, but my cat loves it even more! It makes cute sounds, flaps its wings, and with the flapping movement even moves around a little on our laminate floor. We have an older cat we adopted years ago, and his previous person had him declawed sadly. Because of that our boy is limited with the things he can play with. Well, this little bird is a big hit! He took to it right away, carefully picking it up between his paws and licking it. He has a few more favorites in addition to the Sandpiper and we know they make him happy, and that in turn makes us happy. ... show more

  • This is SUCH a good toy all the way around! I'm bummed I didn't buy the 2 pack!
Style: Male Sandpiper
Not only does my 4 month old cat, Squirt, absolutely LOVE this toy(he's been stalking/playing with it since we received it and i turned it on)... but the humans in the house love it also. One of the BEST things is the sound level. It's loud enough to hear, but not deafening or so loud that it drives you nuts after 10 minutes of it being on. It stays in the background, instead of constantly yelling at you, and reminding you that its there chirping... You can easily have a conversation or watch TV while the cat is in the background playing and hunting his/her heart out, and not have to actively block out the chirping coming from the toy so you don't go mad. 🙃 Something else that we love is that it is rechargeable, and comes with a charging cord(you need to have a 5V charging block already, as it doesn't come with one, but that was no problem for us.. just a regular phone charging block works perfectly fine) We also like that it doesn't constantly chirp. The cat has to actively be playing with it in order for it to continue chirping. And even if the cat is actively playing with it, it will not chirp constantly. It takes little 15-30 second breaks after a few chirps. From what I can tell so far, there is no method to the chirping. Which is good. Bc I've found, with my cat atleast, if there's a pattern/repetition to a toy, he'll lose interest a lot sooner and opposed to it randomly going off. I thought the bird was kinda big at first, but my 4 month old cat proved me wrong. He bats it around like Ragnar Lothbrok, and teaches it who's boss all the time. He has no problem picking it up in his mouth either. The fabric it's made of is soft and fuzzy, but doesn't leave fluff balls anywhere. So I feel like that is good bc you don't have to worry about your cat eating any fabric and getting blocked up/impacted. The only thing I will mention that I THINK could be a problem in the future, is the little feet, and the feathers on the birds bum. My cat is an absolute viking. Yes, even at 4 months old. He is such a little destructor. Already, I've noticed he's taken a fancy to biting and chewing on the legs as well as the feathers. I imagine overtime they will wear out and I might end up having to use scissors to take off any parts that become a potential issue. Again, the only 2 things I believe could create a problem like this are the feet and the feathers. But it hasn't caused any issues in the hour since it's been home yet lol. I will update this review if anything changes. Overall, I'm thrilled all around with this purchase. This cat has been giving us a run for our money, and it's hard to keep him entertained 24/7. This toy has helped tremendously since its been here, and we will keep it in rotation with all the other toys we've got for him. If need be, in the future I will definitely purchase the bird duo if this guy ever dies on us. Much appreciation from 2 kitten parents that are lacking sleep, and the time to do anything other than keep a kitten entertained😅 ... show more

  • Cat AND dog approved as best toy in the world Cat AND dog approved as best toy in the world
Style: Male Sandpiper
This is one of the most engaging and entertaining toys we’ve found for my PETS ever! My cat took to it immediately with curiosity and fascination then vigorous hunting prowess. Fun for dogs: Once it entered the domain of our Australian Shepherd it was impossible to keep it from her. She constantly herds the cat with it then steals it away. Once in her possession she shakes and throws it to herself repeatedly. The charge time is nominal and not as frequent as I expected. It lasts days! They get so much use out of it. Size: And unlike so many other toys, it doesn’t end up under a stove or couch, lost to time or the next cleaning routine. Activity level: When it turns off, as it should, she sits and watches it for hours, waiting for any movement or action. If the breeze or gravity shifts it she will attack and it’s game on again. Occasionally, I will tap it so it will tweet again so she reengages, simply out of pity. I’ve had to buy a second one just for the cat in his space, it’s on him when he teases her with it in her space. But I have to return one or the other in there occasionally. It’s such a great toy. Chewability: This is a dog that believes toys are for killing and meant to be unstuffed. I’ve spent more money on stuffing and squeakers than snugglers. There is something about this toy that makes it special. You’ll notice the tail feathers are pretty much gone, as I expected, but other than that, she’s left the rest in tact. She can shake and attack, throw and play, but the mechanism, wings, and head all stay put. The only thing keeping the device in place is a sturdy Velcro strip. And it’s sturdy! But she’s never broke through. The head and wings aren’t her target. She’s in it for the chase and engagement. Even her tiny little nose is still in tact. Bounce: If you were expecting more hop for your money, as I was, don’t get excited. This doesn’t do flips or jump over the moon. This little fella doesn’t clear a couple of inches, at best. After the initial disappointment I realized my cat (and later my dog) didn’t see the video and wasn’t concerned in the least about the lack of acrobatics. They were pleased as punch with the noise and motion it was capable of. So, I let it go and maintain my five stars as is. ... show more

  • Interesting Toy That Grew on My Cat Over Time
Style: Owl
⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Interesting Toy That Grew on My Cat Over Time The Potaroma Flapping Owl Cat Toy is a unique and well-made interactive toy with a realistic bird chirping sound and soft flapping motion. The rechargeable feature is convenient, and I like that it’s touch-activated so it can encourage independent play. It did take my cat quite a while to show any interest in it at first. She mostly ignored it for the first several days. However, over time she has started to engage with it occasionally and will now bat at it or interact with it for short periods. It’s not an all-day favorite in our house, but it does get used from time to time and adds some variety to her toys. Overall, it’s a decent enrichment toy that may just take a little patience for some cats to warm up to. ... show more

  • Love these! (and kitty does, too!!)
Style: Owl
I purchased the Pippin a couple years ago. My kitty-baby loved it! and she is hard to buy for lol. She much prefers paper/plastic shopping bags and the cardboard boxes that all her toys come packed in. She also loves my hair ties. You'd think I had a toddler at home. I have little boxes with all sorts of kitty toys and trinkets. I pull them out. Toss them around. Little toys all over the floor. Hardly even a glance from her. Ha. But these!!! She loves them! I was so glad to find something she'll actually play with. She doesn't need to be prompted either. I often hear this little thing chirping and shaking around when I'm in another room. I peak around the corner to find kitty-baby happily rolling around and playing. She hooks it with her claws and tosses it around with ease, goes crazy tearing at it with her rear legs, rolls around on the floor with it. It's durable. She tears holes in all her bedding, but the original one of these we had has definitely withstood her ruthless assaults. It's not crazy loud. It's motion activated. The sound/shake is long enough to keep her intrigued. Not so long that it drives me nuts. The catnip is also great. She goes crazy for it. Actually, when this one arrived I told my bf he could take it out and charge it up. (He enjoys charging new items lmao) Kitty was in a window in another room. He opens it up, plugs it in, and a minute later she's in the middle of the living room with her nose in the air. Sniffing. Sniff. Sniff. Sniff. Like a bloodhound. Lolol So cute! And she did track it down on top of our corner table. 😂 pulled it right down to the floor. 👌 That's exactly what I want to see when I get her a toy!! But I've only ever seen her respond like that to this toy. It's easily washable. I've not washed this new one yet, but I did wash the previous one multiple times. Undo the velcro. Remove the battery pack and "wings". Wash. Reassemble. The battery charges quickly and seems to last very long. I only ordered this new one because I saw it in my purchase history and realized I hadn't seen her Pippin recently. 🤔 Thought it would be cute to have the two. I definitely recommend. They're both cute (the Pippin and the owl) I prefer the owl, but my kit-kat doesn't seem to have a preference. She loves them both. ... show more

  • Has REAL bird feathers.
Style: Male Sandpiper
I bought two of these bird toys for my cats. I will be returning one. I will explain my reasons below. First, these birds are very attractive to most cats. However it's not the color, or the bird itself, but the real feathers that come from some other real, live bird. My cats went crazy for those feathers. They only chewed on that part of the toy. They liked the chirping sound and would pick it up and drop it down to hear the chirping, but then they'd start attacking the feathers again! I ended up cutting off the feathers as it really bothered me to see my cats behaving in that way as I don't want to train them to attack live birds. So I'm returning the second bird toy that I purchased as that has not been used and I'm keeping the first one (that now has no feather in it). One other thing is that my cats were afraid of the flapping wings but that's adjustable, so now the wings don't flap; it just chirps and they like that. As a vegan, I try not to purchase toys that harm animals in the manufacturing process and unfortunately this is one of those toys. Had I know about the real bird feathers, I would not have purchased this toy for my cats. ... show more

  • Surprisingly Realistic & Immediately Captivating — My Cats Were Obsessed
Style: Male Sandpiper
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my cats, but we decided to test it before wrapping it — and I’m so glad we did. The moment we turned it on, the bird looked and sounded surprisingly lifelike. We ended up placing it on a shelf just to observe… and the cats were absolutely transfixed for the rest of the night. Unboxing & First Impressions The bird comes well-packaged, fully intact, and already feels sturdy in the hand. The material is soft but durable, and the size (around 4 inches) is perfect for cats to kick, chase, and pounce on. It also came with the charging cable and a catnip pouch. Performance & Real-World Testing Even though it wasn’t on the floor yet, the touch-activated flapping wings worked exactly as described. The movement is rhythmic and realistic, and the chirping isn’t too loud — just enough to grab their attention without being annoying. The biggest surprise was how long it kept their attention. They stared at it from across the room, ears perked, pupils huge, literally waiting for it to move again. If they’re this fascinated by it on a shelf, I can only imagine how excited they’ll be once they actually get to play with it. What Surprised Me • The wings flap more smoothly and naturally than I expected. • The chirping sounds real, not robotic. • Even from a distance, it was enough stimulation to keep two very different-aged cats equally engaged. Pros • Extremely realistic movement and sound • Rechargeable (no constant battery swapping) • Sturdy material that feels like it’ll last • Great size for kicking and swatting • Keeps attention even without direct contact Cons • It does chirp, so if you’re sound-sensitive you might prefer turning it off at night • Probably a little too realistic — my cats were plotting on it like hunters 😂 Who It’s Perfect For Any cat that loves motion-activated toys, hunting-style play, or realistic animal sounds. Great enrichment for indoor cats especially. Final Verdict For the price, the quality and realism are impressive. If my cats are this obsessed before even playing with it properly, this toy is 100% going to be a Christmas hit. Would absolutely buy again. ... show more

  • Surprisingly good toy
Style: Male Sandpiper
I have two four-month-old kittens that think this toy is the greatest thing in the world. They were a little unsure of the sound at first, but now they both come flying whenever they hear it. They wrestle it and love to chew on it. Even the feathers are somehow still intact. Battery life seems good too. Highly recommend for active kittens. ... show more
