I don't know why my cats love this simplistic toy so much but they do. I am now on our 12th purchase of this item in two years. And this is only because I have one male cat who makes it his mission to bite through the cord and ruin the fun for everyone else. And when he does succeed, I pull out the rope from it's body and he promptly carries it off in his mouth in complete victory so he can hoard it away from the other cats. He carries them in his mouth everywhere and then brings them to me so he can play fetch. While the mouse is intact on the string, it swings and bounces with such enthusiasm that all of the cats are zoned in for the kill. They will play with this toy for 20 minutes straight. The mouse has a small rattle sound and the fur sticks out just enough to entice them to try and bite it and grab it with their claws. They all love to chew on the mouse when they have it clutched in their claws. It's the perfect size mouse too. My only issue is that the door hanger itself will sometimes lose the rubber covers on the end when they are too aggressive in their attacks (they try to pull it free from the rope) and one of the sides sometimes slips off the doorframe. I usually find the rubber ends and put it back on but most times I can't find it until I vacuum it up and I don't bother putting it back on then. But other than that, it really is a great toy for our little hunters. ... show more

I know five stars, and it keeps me up most nights. It hangs in my doorway. My cat won't leave it alone. She has learned to stretch it underneath my bed and hook it on the bed frame. Then, she lets the elastic string go thats attached to the mouse. It hits the walls, my door, the linen closet in the hallway, the door to my bathroom, and then the string stops. And she does it all over again. I live in a fairly small apartment so she has the perfect setup. The other thing she likes to do is lie on her back and swing the mouse back n forth. The mouse hits the walls and bed. Of course she does this at 3:00 in the morning. Do I hate it? Yes, but I find myself laughing at her. Who could get mad at her? I recommend this toy for everyone. You'll laugh too. Hopefully not in the middle of the night. ... show more

BEST CAT TOY EVER! I adopted a cat from the Humane Society who isn't extremely active but when she wants to play she really wants to play and gets the "zoomies". We absolutely love having this toy because it fits over any door frame doesn't cause any damage and she can play with it on her own or with us, she goes nuts for hearing it smack against the door jamb which also doesn't cause any damage and it's on a bungee cord that you can hold back 10 ft and let go so it projectiles back and forth. She absolutely loves her mouse to the point that we have to put it up at night because she'll keep me up all night playing with it. She's also quite destructive with toys and yet this toy house stood up to the test of time and abuse she's thrown its way. She will grab it and lay on the floor with it chewing on it and it is yet to come apart unlike all the other toys we've gotten or made for her. I absolutely highly recommend this incredibly durable, entertaining (with or without having a person involved), fun (& fun to watch her play with it) interactive cat toy. I have 2 cats (3 & 4 years old, both very playful) and bought this with the younger in mind. He is very active and can get restless, and loves "fishing pole" type and interactive toys. This was a huge hit with him! (My other cat was also initially very interested, but I think has since been a bit intimidated by the wild ways his brother plays with it.) We've had it for a bit under 3 weeks, and the 3yo cat (pictured) plays with it multiple times a day. Sometimes that's just laying under it and batting at it... all the way up to carrying the mouse in his mouth, up to 15+ feet away, and letting it wildly spring back. Be sure to hang it in a doorway without any especially fragile items nearby, because of that! (Several times I've had to retrieve it after it bounced back so wildly as to get hung up on the door hinges or a nearby object.) I did find the same issue others have noticed-- most doorways are far too wide for the top part to fully grip around, but I hung it somewhat sideways on part of the door frame and it has had no issues staying in place, even with my cat dragging the mouse toy all over our home and then letting it bounce back with force. This will likely become a go-to gift for anyone I know with a playful young cat. ETA: if your cat plays with it as wildly as mine does (carrying it off to let it spring back), you'll find that soon the mouse starts to be "skinned." I saw that was happening and ordered a 2-pack to have on backup. Today (after just under 2 months of use) I saw that the elastic cord had broken, near the mouse, so put up a replacement. I'll likely try to add a few stitches to the new ones to help keep the fabric covering from coming off the rattle-y plastic mouse base form as quickly (as if that part had been intact, I could have just re-tied the elastic cord pieces together). Even if it continues to need regular replacement, though, this remains a 5/5 star cat toy for the price and how much regular play and enrichment he gets out of it! ... show more

This purchase came two to a package, so we gave our kitties one and shared the other with a friend for her giant Maine Coon kitten. Our cats and our friend's cat love these toys. The big game for our crew seems to be to pull the mouse back with their paws clasped together and let it fly into the air on the elastic cord. The mechanism that is supposed to clamp onto a doorframe is not sized right, and you kind of have to bend it to make it stay. It's not a big deal, just was not very well thought out. ... show more
