UPDATE 2: My other review is for red shrimp, this one is for blue. They are the same species, but just a different color morph. I will copy and paste this review on the other because I consider it all part of the same experience. The short: My third time buying from this vendor means I am satisfied and that I do recommend this vendor. The long: All of my shrimp (I ordered 20) arrived alive. A few extra were included (just in case some didn't make the trip). The shrimp are well packed and insulated. I wouldn't order them all year around, be sensible about the temperature in your area. I live where it is nice this time of year but too hot for live shipping in the summer. I have a narrow window to order stuff like this so them arriving alive is very important. They have a 'arrive alive' guarantee but if it is too hot (or too cold) then it doesn't really matter. Getting it right the first time is what counts. They did get it right. There were also some fry (AKA babies) in with the adults. This is something that cannot be helped when bagging the adults. I collected them and put them in a different tank so they can grow in peace. Having fry in with the adults is a good sign that the mother colony is vibrant. Conclusion: It's always a gamble to buy live animals online and have them shipped. The trick is to improve the odds buy purchasing at the right time of year and from a vendor that manages for weather and other issues that can come up. I'm pleased. UPDATE: After several months the shrimp from the first order thrived. So I ordered again. The second order was not as good as the first. The first had extra shrimp. This one only had the 10 and 3 of them were dead on arrival. I will still buy from this vendor though. The shrimp are excellent and some loss is reasonable. I just wish they had put extra like last time so I would have still ended up with 10. I live in a place that has warm weather, even this time of year. I was worried about the shrimp. They came to the mail box, which worried me even more. Fortunately, I got a notification and was home so I was able to get them out within two minutes. I took the box home and opened it to find it full of insulation material in the middle of which was an insulated pouch in which the shrimp were placed. They put in extra shrimp just in case so instead of the 10 I ordered there were 14. That's a nice bonus. Even nicer is the fact that they were all alive. Not only alive, but quite lively. None of them were lethargic or showed any signs the journey had been tough on them. I acclimated them via drip for about an hour and a half and then introduced them to the main tank. They immediately started foraging for food and exploring the tank. It's worrisome to buy livestock online and I have only done it three times. One of those times was a disaster which kept me from doing it again for a long time. It was the live arrival guarantee that pursuaded me, and the fact that the purchase is through Amazon. I am pleased with the purchase, the speed of shipping, and the condition of the shrimp. That leads me to one more point that is important to make - the shrimp are large, no small ones in the bunch, and clearly have been taken well care of by the breeder as they are very bright red. All in all I couldn't be more pleased.

Can’t recommend this store enough. I got NINE extra shrimp, and only one was DOA, literal two day shipping two weeks before Christmas. I also got three red rili and one blue in my pack! Both snails were alive and one is a beautiful purple color. I am so extremely happy with my order.

I admit it. I'm a shrimp killer. Keeping in mind that I bought all my shrimp (up until this purchase from this seller "Swimming Creatures") from very well known online shrimp purveyors in the freshwater shrimp business and I'm sure everyone knows their websites if you're "Into" shrimp. So far I've bought two batches of 10 Blue Dreams, a "Skittle" 10-pack of mixed colors, and when I decided I needed a hardier, tougher, bigger batch shrimp to tough it out in my tank, I bought 10 Amanos. I admit that I'm probably making a huge mistake because I do have a betta in the tank (12"x12"x12") although in all honesty out of ALL those shrimp I have never seen the betta ever go after one let alone kill one. I know, I know it doesn't mean it isn't happening but still....was I killing them with water parameters? Or the betta? Or both? The first batch of Amano shrimp I bought from one of the better known vendors were SMALL. A few died right away. (I DO drip acclimate for 3 hr minimums) Then a week later I topped off about an inch with distilled water that I'd heated to within 3 degrees of the tank and BA BOOM! Next morning 3 dead Amanos which I figured was the balance of that last order of shrimp. SOOOOOoooooo...here I was on Amazon and happened to come across this seller: "Swimming Creatures". I have to admit. I was sold on the photos. What beautiful Amanos! And the price was right! So I took a dive into the "Swimming Creatures" inventory of Amanos with the 10+2 deal.. Here's the bottom line: I have NEVER received a more Robust, Healthy, Active group of shrimp than this batch from "Swimming Creatures". And these Amanos were LARGE compared to the size of shrimps other vendors sell. BIGGEST shrimp I ever bought from anyone! I was sad, because I actually received 13 Amanos but three of the Amanos got caught in a wrinkle of the plastic bag that they were bagged in so I received 10 Healthy and Active Large Amanos and then the 3 caught in the packaging probably when they were bagged. One more observation. All of my previous shrimp purchases would immediately hide (probably from the betta) and I wouldn't see them again until they were a dead pink corpse on the bottom of the tank. THIS batch from "Swimming Creatures" are NOT hiding. They are out and about feeding. Maybe because they are older and larger shrimp than I normally receive from sellers, these Amanos are not threatened. I know that they can grow even larger than they already are and I'm hoping to grow them larger. So...there is my review. Does my outstanding experience guarantee that you will have an outstanding experience? No. We all know the investment adage, "Past performance does not guarantee future performance."....But I feel that there is a very good chance that it will with this seller, "Swimming Creatures". I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this seller!

This is my first time ordering shrimp online and will definitely be ordering from this seller again! 1 came DOA and another little blue one shortly after, but 25 came in the bag, so I won’t be bothering the seller about those 2. They are so pretty and different colors. The water they came in was clean and the snail was separated. Thank you!
