Features

  • This Thru Axle adapter compatible with instep, Schwinn, Allen sports Thule Chariot, Burley, Hamax, Retrospec and many more brand bike trailers.
  • Replaces your original Thru-Axle so you can attach a bike trailer to your Thru Axle bike.
  • The true length of the axle shaft is from 167mm to 185mm and can be shortened by using the included spacers.
  • You need a standard 5mm hex wrench to do the installing work. The bike trailer hitch is not included in this kit.
  • NOTE: Thru-Axle lengths do not equal to hub standards. An axle has to be longer than the hub to fit with the bike frame. A 12148 hub does not equal a 148mm long axle.
  • Please pull out the original axle and carefully measure the shaft length and check the thread pitch before purchase.

I do charity events where you are matched with a special needs individual and pull them in a bike trailer. I bought this thru axle for that purpose. Product works great! Me and my spouse use it weekly to attach our off brand bike trailer to our mountain bike. We often use it on paved trails but it has not failed us on gravel roads. Will be buying a second one in a differenr size very soon for another bike.

Bought this for my 2013 Cannondale Scalpel and it fits with all the spacers. Connects perfectly with the InStep trailer we have. I have used it a couple times and haven't noticed any difference in the feel of the axle. So far, would recommend.

Broke off after a test ride. It has very prominent weak spot, I'd avoid these due to safety concerns. I'm glad I did not have kids in the trailer when the axle broke.

Purchased this to attach our Burley Bike Trailer to my bicycle. It sheared off after having it for only 3 months!!! We only used it 4 times! Very poor quality. Don’t waste your money, purchase the better brand. We wasted $30 on this garbage. We’ll be purchasing the Burley brand this next go round.
