  • Loved it
One thing I love about Micalea's books is she always does what's true to her characters. She does what's best for them and doesn't portray toxic relationship habits just because that may be what her readers want. Yes, she could take the fast and easy route to happily after and healthy habits be damn, but what kind of example is that? Dani and Lachlan is no different. It's so hard to write this review without giving away spoilers. One thing I can say is how much I loved Dani and Lachlan, as a couple and as individuals. They grew so much not just together, but apart as well individually which is just as important, if not more so. This book may be a little long, but every part is necessary to the story. And so worth it. I just love the characters so much and wish I could read this for the first time all over again. I'm worried if I write all my thoughts and feelings towards this book, I'd spoil it. One thing I will say is it has a Happily Ever After... P.S. That cover... I may have thought it pretty before, but after reading the book I feel in love with it for the symbolism. ... show more

I loved this book so much! It is a student-teacher/counselor romance, but I feel like it’s done really well. I wouldn’t say this is a steamy book.. so if that’s what you’re looking for maybe skip with one. The main character has been through a trauma and has to repeat her senior year over. The Hero is so caring, patient and understanding I just love them together! The side characters were amazing too, you may even fall in love with Dandelions best friend, because he’s pretty great at well! There were some parts towards the end that seemed to drag out a tiny bit... but I also just wanted to get to the happy ending so that could have been my preference. I love this book so much definitely give it a read! ... show more

  • Sheer perfection in my favorite trope
This is my absolute FAVORITE Micalea Smeltzer book. I usually dont write positive reviews because what more can be said? But this, this book is pure perfection! Typically I cant stand the heroines of books, probably 95% of them I hate at some point if not the whole book and feel they deserve everything they get and more. But Dandelion? She was perfect. I loved everything about her and she was perfect for Lachlan. The way her struggles were portrayed never felt overly dramatic and I always had sympathy with her plight. Her struggles matured her but also gave her an innocence and vulnerability. Lachlan, he had it rough but he was so believably portrayed on paper. I just felt his anguish. Sage, yes he was partially right but also partially a hypocrite. But I would love a book for him. Preferably NOT with Sasha. I already know she is just a filler character and not a main character. She was mostly annoying in this book. And I don't know if I could swallow her as a FMC. Ansel, oh how I loved him. He soooooooo deserves his own book with his HEA. The narrator was top notch and I felt she sounded the appropriate ages and she did well on the mens voices. Student/teacher is my favorite trope and although he is a counselor this is by far my FAVORITE of this trope. Give me all the characters in future books that are Lachlans and Dandelions ❤ The only thing that would have been great was getting Lachlan's POV but otherwise this book is perfect ... show more

  • An absolute amazing read.
Can I give a 6th star? Pretty please? Ugh. This book was so good. I freakin love Dani & Lachlan. There love story is beautiful. 🥰 So much freakin depth to these characters and their story. A book has to be realllly good for me to keep at it, when it doesn’t have much smut. But I will say that the minimal sex scenes were so well written. Truthfully I did have to take a break for an hour once to read something else that was faster paced because the book is so detailed. Which is great, makes you really be able to envision the scene. But my anxiety was really high so it was allowing me time to let my thoughts wander. I only lasted an hour on another book because I missed Sweet Dandelion too much. Micalea’s writing is so captivating and I cannot wait to read another book from her. I’ve read over 250 books THIS year and this is definitely one of my faves. I cried or teared up so many times. My ONLY complaint would be the lack of commas. There were SO many occasions where there needed to be a comma and there wasn’t. I have no idea why this bothered me so much. I don’t have perfect grammar. It just somehow stood out to me every time. Obviously didn’t stop me from enjoying the story though. ... show more

  • Now one of my favorites!
I was needing a good book and Sweet Dandelion delivered! I honestly thought it would be good but not near as good as it actually is. Dani has been through so much and has a lot to work through when she finds Lachlan. I would actually love to hear more about what Lachlan was going through in this book. That’s probably my only wish. I now need a book for the other characters. I’m just so in love with the story. There are sections that are fairly steamy but it never seems to go too overboard. I love the length of the book too. I was afraid it was going to be short but it’s not! The author really takes us through everything that Dani has to go through from the struggle of the first day of school to her beautiful happy life years laters. Can’t wait to read more! ... show more
