Very unhappy after 16 months one camera has failed. My previous swann system was 5 years old and still working fine. I “Upgraded” to this system for the 4k but obviously the quality has gone way down on swann products

I had an older system that worked wonderfully (HD 1080). It lasted nearly 10 years before it stopped recording. I could see everything, for they were still functional, but they recorded nothing. The system was simple and easy to use. Now, I bought this one. Perhaps it is the POE, but the cameras lack a natural flow in real time. The default is setup for detection. It took some time to make them record continuously. Yes, detection only saves hard drive space, but sometimes the detection fails. Nothing is perfect. For the price, I'd rather have my old HD system back, BUT the zoom features on this NEW system is AWESOME. So, would I recommend this? If you have the time, YES. If you want simplicity, get a lesser model. ... show more

So far, so good. It's really simple to use and install. The 13yr old cameras I removed was a large task. It was actually the hardest part of the project. Hopefully it stays this way.

I received the unit right away. Installed everything and had trouble with one camera. After troubleshooting and trying every scenario possible then consulting with the manufacturer, I was unable to get it operating and was never provided a replacement. Two weeks later had an additional camera that went out, I reached out to the manufacturer and have yet to hear back from them. Very bad customer service and technical support.
