This product does a fairly decent job at replicating the functionality of, say, a Garmin Approach G10 or Bushnell Phantom. Once you're on a golf course, it'll try to locate you by GPS. There's a good chance your course will be in its database of 38,000 courses. Once it does, it'll follow you around the course, giving you information such as the distance to the front, center, and back of the green for the hole you're playing. You can also get information on the various hazards on that hole. It'll also let you keep score right on the device, and if you're willing to put the effort in, it'll calculate your shot distance (press OK from your tee, walk to where you hit the ball, and hit OK again). You won't get fancy things like full color maps, but then again, that's kind of what your eyes are for. There's a really strong magnet you can use to fix it to a golf cart. There's a feature called "i-Caddie" that will actually give you suggestions on what club to use. But for me, the best feature of all is that there are no hidden charges. Once you buy it, it's yours. A lot of companies have gotten into the bad habit of finding ways to lock you in to paying for subscriptions to keep your unit up to date. With Izzo, just plug it into your computer, download the update software, launch the update tool, and get the latest course information for free. Unfortunately it looks like they only support Windows and not Mac. I like the fact that it's made in Taiwan as well; you can tell that the material and workmanship are top notch. This golf rangefinder is well-made and works well. It's just the right size and easy to use. The screen is easy to read and seems very accurate. The battery life is great and it charges via an USB C port. The magnetic back is strong and holds the device securely.

Testing across a couple of courses, this little thing has been spot on so far. I love the magnetic backing which makes it easy to mount. Display is easy to read. Love the compact design which can easily be slipped into the pocket.

The media could not be loaded. This is just okay as a caddie because the distances for all clubs can’t be dialed in with specialty clubs and custom yardages. It syncs to golf courses, in some cases there are two identical courses and only one will be correct if a golf course has two courses. Distances refresh every couple seconds, magnet is strong to hold to golf cart steel post. Also, the battery life lasts 4 hours and uses up only half of the battery power. I don’t like it for keeping track of the score, but you can use it to keep score though it’s easier just using a score card because the unit is tiny. I checked the yardages with a range finder and it’s pretty helpful getting the distances to the front, middle, and back of greens. It’s also interesting to see distances to hazards. Unit automatically switches to the next hole when moving past the current hole. I don’t know if this will replace a range finder but it’s been super helpful telling that one golfer who constantly asks for the yardages. Now they can just peek at this screen and what makes this better than the golf cart mounted computer is this can come with you to the tee boxes or out on a “cart path only” hole. ... show more

Update: they did ship out a new unit. It does have a little smaller screen and does load our golf course. The pictures with the red dots are the new unit. It does work, takes a little bit to load but will work for the average golfer The Swami KISS 2.0 Handheld Golf GPS Rangefinder is a good idea. Never got to find out…out of the box it’s small and compact, easy to use for the most part when it comes to setting it up, has a pretty bright screen for outdoors. BUT when it came to trying it out to see how it works (I was going to compare it to 18 Birdies on my Apple Watch) never could get it to work. It just sits there on the “GPS SEARCHING” screen. After about 5-8 minutes, I decided To call the 800 number for advice. After reading off the device info from the rangefinder, he told me that its part of a bad batch of them that were produced and its a known issue that they sit on about 98% loaded but never fully load anything. He told me to return it to Amazon and request a new one. He took down my info and said he would send me an email. I never Received the email and I felt Like he really didn’t care about resolving the issue. Had it worked as described, I think It would’ve been okay. But I would not recommend getting it unless you have a guarantee that the “Bad Batch” is all recalled. ... show more

Pretty cool compact little tool. Has a strong magnet to hold it to the cart. Doesn’t take that long to get GPS data to determine your course. Seems to accurately give distances. No issues with it so far, great to have as a backup to my laser
