My third subwoofer. These all have Chinese made amplifiers unless you are spending a lot more money. The problem is that they stay on constantly and tend to burn out. There is no on off switch on the app so if you want to turn the amp off you have to get to the back of the unit which is a pain. I really like this subwoofer. Being sealed makes its output sounds much closer to my other speakers which are also sealed. You can't tell that there is a subwoofer on my system but you do hear plenty of clean low frequency. The app is useful for adjusting the volume and the presets. You can use it to change from movie output to music output and adjust options such as the low pass filter. The black ash color looks decent. Save yourself the $100 for the black gloss finish. I'm very happy. Let's hope this unit lasts for a while. ... show more

    • Essential part of my desktop audio setup
This subwoofer will immensely improve the bass of your audio setup. This was my first ever subwoofer purchase and it makes a huge difference to the enjoyability of music that has any amount of bass (I listen to pop and EDM tracks). I have the KEF LSX IIs on my desk, and I have the SVS SB-1000 Pro on the floor to the left of my legs. Because the bass is now handled by the subwoofer, my desk no longer has any vibrations at all from the KEF LSX IIs. I have heard reviewers saying other brands of subwoofers "integrate" better with your speakers. However, with my limited experience with subwoofers in mind, I don't feel like the subwoofer sticks out at all. I have it off to the side under my desk, but the bass sounds like it's coming directly out of the speakers. It doesn't sound like there's bass coming out from under the desk or anything like that. I am genuinely curious how a subwoofer can "integrate" better with speakers! Overall a very solid purchase I'm happy with. The app doesn't look the best, but it is simple and Just Works. Just make sure you have an RCA cable to connect your speakers and subwoofer! ... show more

    • Very Nice Subwoofer
This sub gives nice deep and accurate bass. The phone app to control the sub is very nice and easy to use. I bought one sub and was very happy with the results. I decide to buy a second unit. I have a fairly large room, a finished basement. I was using a 5.0 system with no sub as I have large speakers with good bass. I made it a 5.1 system with the first sub and thought it provided sufficient bass but decided to go for two to better fill the room. I am still undecided if two subs were really worth it. To keep the bass from booming, I had to turn the volume down. I am not a bass head and like a clean sound. With these subs you discover the over exaggerated bass of most commercials and many TV shows. While I think these are excellent subs, I question the need if you have large speakers with sufficient bass. I am certainly glad I did not buy one of their more expensive units. ... show more

    • sb1000 a nice subwoofer
I do not know much about Subwoofers other then they are big, expensive and provide deep articulate bass. This one is little, affordable, and provides very nice articulate bass. Though it is more for music as it does not provide the excessive bass you get with movies. The remote program that comes with it is fun to play with and will take a bit of a learning curve to dial in the best settings. Out of the box this little sub delivers nice sounding bass. My room is a well damped 18x12. I am 7 ft from speakers in near field listening and they are a great addition, low frequencies to blend with my monitor speakers. If you want to quibble the amp could us a few more horsepower as my volume control is at 80% of its capacity to find my proper volume 70 to 80 db for me. I have a two-channel system and I use a speaker connection (not RCA) and the sub blends in flawlessly. ... show more

    • Perfect subwoofer to complete my home theater system with great tech support.
For my small TV room I had purchased Klipsch R-30C center speaker as well as Klipsch R-51M left-right speakers, but wanted to get the entire 20 to 20,000 Hz sound spectrum. My left-right speakers go down to 62 Hz, so I obviously needed a sub to complete the system. The SVS SB-1000 Pro filled this need completely. In addition, after I ran the optimizer for my receiver, no signal went to the subwoofer. I called SVS tech support, and the tech patiently ran me through the settings for my receiver. I turned out that the optimizer identified the R-51M speakers as Large, which was the reason no signal went to the sub. He had me change them to Small, and I got my signal back to the sub. This was going the extra mile to help me debug the optimizer settings of a receiver from another company entirely, to get everything working. Lastly, the SB1000 Pro is engineered so that you can't tell that the low frequencies are coming from the left corner of the room, but rather, from the listening position, it sounds like all of the bass is split between the two left-right speakers. Just an overall excellent product, with great bass and some of the best tech support I have ever experienced. ... show more
