I got my unit from GLAM_AZON who has bricks and mortar store(s) in NJ. the parent company is Electronics Expo. Great to work with! I had a shipping issue and they went above and beyond, by a lot, to make it right. THANK YOU! Now, for the review. The unit was double boxed and securely packed. When I set it up, it was mostly just a matter of plugging in and connecting the line level inputs from my receiver. To get the turning aspects taken care of I played a trailer for the movie Meg 2 which had plenty of explosions and other loud and low sounds so I could hear a variety of things to make sure the response was good across the board. Loaded the SVS Subwoofer Android app, selected movie mode in the menus and hit save. I set the level around 60% and then adjusted the receiver bass and subwoofer level to dial it in while listening to the Meg 2 trailer. When I thought it was about right, watched the actual film. It was a perfect test for this sub, and let me tell you, no disappointment. This is the highest quality audio component I've ever purchased and it really shows. The movie was fantastic and the LFE effects were nothing short of mind blowing. My simple tuning strategy apparently worked excellent because the sub blended seamlessly with the other 5 speakers in my setup, older upper end Polk. Now as far as music goes, didn't have much time to test music but what I did hear sounded very promising. Everything was clear and fast response, and despite being a ported enclosure, not too boomy. Am looking very much forward to turning a preset to work with my typical music which is mostly hard rock and metal. If what I've seen so far is any indication as to the performance I will most likely be beyond happy with the sound. Everything about this unit is confidence inspiring. Not a criticism but an observation, be prepared this thing is GIGANTIC for a 12". Based on my initial impressions, this is a must buy if you only want 1 sub and need to support a larger room. Mine is a 1000 sq ft and this thing didn't break a sweat filling the low end with earth shaking bass you can feel. I'm certainly not an audio equipment geek but am a musician, guitar player, and my ears LOVE the output from this thing. Previously I had a Polk 12 which was only about 150 watts RMS, nothing to write home about. Best decision I ever made in terms of augmenting my audio system. ... show more

I love my PB2000. Best subwoofer value ever! Put in the port plugs and enjoy the sealed sound! Pull the port plugs and enjoy explosive LFE for home theater! You have the free app which allows the flexibility to precisely tune many parameters for the best possible sound- I would definitely buy all over again- I am considering getting another! ... show more

First off I purchased this as "Like New" from IQ Home Entertainment and when it arrived I would swear it was brand new. The Pb-2000 Pro is a HUGE improvement over the Klipsch R-12SWi it replaced. The sound quality out of the box is amazing. The SVS phone app is easy to use and has a lot of depth. If you're on the fence don't think, just buy it!!! ... show more

Pro: - system can provide adequate base without booming. - system can work well with LFE (low frequency effect) enabled movies. - you can set "trigger" to turn on system only when LFE is present. - foam inserts to block ports are included. - enclosure and speaker grill look okay. Con: - over priced (manufactured in China). - enclose seems somewhat large for just a 12-inch speaker. - enclosure seems much too heavy (lead loaded?). - privacy tracking cookie required to register speaker (may want to skip?). - Web site seems unstable (difficult to view and do downloads, since site can jump around on its own). - set up instructions are rather vague (especially for adjusting volume when using an AV [audio video] receiver). - system controls (on back) require a bit of trial-and-error practice. - no front "on" light to indicate system is working. - no LFE cable. ... show more

    • Real, deep, accurate bass!
I was on the fence with these for quite awhile. Had 2 klipsch R120SW in my setup and "thought" it sounded good, thought how much difference can I get and is getting 2 more ported 12s really an upgrade? YES. Unbelievable difference and I don't even have them completely dialed in yet. No more boomy bass and seem pretty hard to overdrive. Tight and accurate for music, insanely impressive with the movie LFE range. My living room is fairly large and open to my kitchen and these two powerhouses have no problem pressurizing the living room and rattling the whole house! They aren't cheap but after spending a little time with them I have absolutely zero regret, they're a world away from anything I've previously experienced! ... show more

    • Absolutely blew me away!
It’s not cheap! But you get what you pay for (and more in this case!). It added the epic bottom end to my surround sound system that my rather large Klipsch sub had been lacking and blended very well with my other Klipsch speakers. I had never had the experience (before now) of feeling air blowing across the room and hitting my legs when a big hit happened on screen in a movie.     • Massive sound once set up is right
This is my first SVS product and I have been on the fence about getting this sub due to where I would be placing it, under my projector screen which would mean I'd have to lay the sub on it's side because it's too tall. Paired with a Pioneer Elite AVR and Klipsch speakers, it sounds really good one I played around with the app. I like the MCACC set everything up and at first, I was really impressed. MCACC put the sub on -8.0dB's and the sub itself was on -10dB's. Cranked the levels up and it was louder, just not that chest hitting type of bass. After some time, I decided to play around with the app and the sub EQ and that's what made the sub thump. Now I started to feel the bass in my chest. I believe the amp is a little bit gimmicky, that's why I rated it 3 our of 5 stars. This is a 12" 550watt sub, out of the box this thing should want to bring your house down. Overall, I am really happy with it but I think out of the box it should be loaded with it's full potential and not milked down to force you to mess with the app. ... show more
