    • Better Than Most, Not As Good As Older Hooks
I had to order new crochet hooks, because I lost my vintage C Susan Bates hook. A few months ago, I had to replace my vintage K hook. I really wish companies would quit "improving" items that are perfect to begin with. Aging myself here, but I was surprised with the new hooks. They're still much better than other brands, but the tops as well as the tip of the hook where the yarn is held are much too sharp. I've never had a problem with yarn splitting; now I'm slowed down due to the hook pushing between threads. I'm crocheting a project with the new hook using the same yarn, same pattern that I just completed using an older hook. I didn't have the problem with the older hook. ... show more
